New Ticket Allocation Criteria For Cups +

New Ticket Allocation Criteria For Cups +

Loads of ticket info. First off, those who have renewed their season ticket but might like to re-locate, have a look at the info here: Click Here

The club have looked at ticket allocations for potential Cup runs due to the fact that demand often outstrips supply (eg as Villa point out, if we'd made the FA Cup Final, the ticket allocation was 25 000 and we have 27 500 season card holders) and have revised the allocation criteria accordingly. Good to see it spelt out so no one can have a moan if they don't fulfil the obligations:

Info from Villa:

This new system places greater emphasis on fairness when allocating priority tickets upon cup tie attendance and season card renewal.

Key features are:

*First priority will be given to 2010-11 season card holders who have regularly attended previous rounds of the competition and attended Premier League away games next season.

*Greater priority will be placed upon 2010-11 season card holders who have held their seat for a number of consecutive seasons since 1999-2000.

*The removal of loyalty points as a measure of ticket allocation. Identifying 2010-11 season card holders who have followed Villa throughout previous rounds as well as rewarding those who have held consecutive season cards over recent seasons.

*This system means it has never been more vital to purchase or keep hold of your season card than NOW!

Allocating Priority Tickets

*Cup fixtures held at neutral venues may mean that we receive a ticket allocation which is vastly smaller than the demand from supporters.

*In these circumstances, priority will be given to 2010-11 season card holders who have regularly attended domestic/European Cup games - home or away - while away Premier League attendance may also come into consideration.

*Priority will then be given to season card holders who held a season card for consecutive seasons since 1999.

*We can confirm that loyalty points will not be used to allocate priority tickets.

*This will enable us to allocate tickets fairly when demand from supporters exceeds the number of tickets that can be issued for priority games.

Order Of Priority

1st Priority: 2010-11 Season Card Holders who have attended home and away cup games as well as away Premier League games. This will initially be based on all other games played, then 80 per cent of games played followed by 70 per cent and 50 per cent of all 'other' games' played. If you have attended less than 50 per cent of all other games played you will not qualify for first priority.

2nd Priority: 2010-11 Season Card Holders who have attended home cup games. This will initially be based on all attendance for ALL home 'other' games played. Priority will then be given to those who have attended 80 per cent of games played followed by 70 per cent. If you have attended less than 70 per cent of all other games played you will not qualify for second priority.

3rd Priority: 2010-11 Season Card Holders who have held a season card for consecutive campaigns.

Number of years consecutively held
10 years
8 years +
6 years +
4 years +
2 years +
1 year+

Tickets will be allocated as outlined above. All ticket sales are subject to availability and are dependent on the number of tickets allocated to the Club. Any remaining tickets will be distributed to non Season Card Holders who have attended a number of home games during the 2010-11 season.

Home Cup Scheme

The Home Cup Scheme is the ONLY way to secure your seat for home cup fixtures in all knockout competitions. By joining, your credit/debit card is automatically charged and your cup ticket(s) sent in the post and registering is FREE OF CHARGE. If you cannot attend a cup game for whatever reason, simply send your tickets back to the ticket office at least 24 hours prior to the game for a full refund. Please note that under the terms and conditions of the purchase of your season card, it may be necessary to displace season card holders whose seats are required by the visiting team or competition officials during cup competition. In such instances, supporters will have the opportunity to take up alternative seats.

(I use the cup scheme, it is so easy, never have to worry about forgetting the dates to buy them and it is easy to get a refund if you can't get to a game)

They also point out it is crucial that you use your client reference number to purchase the tickets in order to get a decent booking history.

Seems very fair to me. From a selfish point I and my family should be ok as we always attend home cup matches and have been season ticket holders for 10+ years. I think very good PR to state the criteria BEFORE the season. No one can moan then if we HOPEFULLY get to Wembley again.

agreed krfeskivilla, think it is is great they have laid it out clearly as to what the situation is. No one can complain as it is the same rule for all and we all know before the season even starts that having a season ticket is the way to go + not a dead cert guarantee and that you also need to support the team through the other rounds etc.

Fear. Ahhh that old chestnut. Pretend fans can moan, but real fans can't moan about them moaning lol. And class of 82 great logic. Howver if everybody put there hand in their pocket and we had more season ticket holders, we would need a bigger ground, therefore generating more money. And because we would then generate so much money we would be at Wembley nearly every season. Or we could do as you do and make excuses for not buying a season ticket and just get their every ten years or so!!! Bizarre logic that one.
