Sunday's Aston Villa Press Transfer Talk

A report today says that Bolton are leading the race to sign released from Manchester City midfielder Martin Petrov who has also been linked to Villa, Everton, West Ham and anyone else you care to pluck out of thin air. Not much meat on the bone of this story so think I'll leave it at that, remember contracts don't usually run out until the end of June so there aren't always many moves before that.

Vital Fulham have a little more about the potential Steve Sidwell move to Fulham being on hold while the midfielder waits to see who will be the Cottagers manager next season.

The link to Scott Parker seems to be going cold as reports today say the midfielder is impressed with new boss Avram Grant... yeah, I really am scraping the barrel to bring some transfer news I know!

The News of the World say that Mikel Arteta will remain loyal to Everton despite interest from Villa. MON is apparently willing to pay £12million for the Spanish midfielder who is deadlocked in contract negotiations with just one year left on his current deal. The paper say that because Everton stuck with him during his cruciate knee ligament injury, he'll repay the loyalty and sign a further contract with them.

The Mirror claim we are watching 23-year-old midfielder Andres Guardado who currently plays for Deportivo La Coruna. Spurs have also been linked.
