Show Some Loyalty + Gabby Swap - Transfer Talk!

Show Some Loyalty + Gabby Swap - Transfer Talk!

Ok, we have a couple of News Of The World articles relating to Villa and transfers today.

The first say that Martin O'Neill is desperate to keep James Milner and wants the England midfielder to give him another season just like Gareth Barry did before moving on to Manchester City.

Apparently City won't pay £30million and MON doesn't want to budge on the price, especially as Chelsea are also said to be tracking the versatile 24-year-old.

Only problem is, from the business side of things, if the player won't commit to Villa for a longer term and take a new contract, should Villa not be looking to get the best price now rather than knock a good few million off his value for next summer where he'd only have one year left on his deal?

Not an easy one but if any player isn't totally committed to Villa, I'd think they are better gone with players who do want to play for the mighty claret and blues in the team?

Villa legend Tony Morley says Milner should show some loyalty. In a report in The Daily Star he says, 'The bottom line is whether Milner really wants to stay and if he doesn`t, do Villa want an unhappy player at the club?' 'If I was James Milner I would stay at the Villa and show some loyalty. He was saying he was happy at the club only a few months ago.'

Hogwash warning. According to NotW Villa and Spurs are set to swap Gabby Agbonlahor and Robbie Keane.

They say that both players are valued at £12million and Appy Arry and MON are set to do a swap deal.

Just can't see this myself. Gabby is 23, young, learning, improving and seems to be one of the MON favourites as he starts every game.

Our latest poll, for the want of something to ask (!) asks if you'd make that swap!

Keane may well end up at Villa, but I would be astounded if Agbonlahor ended up at Spurs (They don't need him)

Seems a daft story for sure. They did link Ashley Young with Keane being part of the deal not long back, now it is Gabby.

As for loyalty, no such thing in the game I don't think, players are members of staff and look after themselves, not anyone else. Fans are loyal, players seldom are, especially in these days of mad money.
