Saturday's Aston Villa Transfer Talk

Saturday's Aston Villa Transfer Talk

The Sun say that Manchester City will soon be back in for Villa and England midfielder James Milner.

The report says they will meet the £30million valuation Villa have put on the 24-year-old and make a move for him when he returns from the World Cup.

The Sun claims that Manchester United are also interested in James Milner.

The Sun say Villa are keeping a watching brief on Anderlecht midfielder Mbark Boussoufa as a potential Milner replacement. Apparently the 25-year-old Morocco international is valued at around £10million and also wanted by Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen.

The Express & Star also name Boussoufa as a target. His agent, Rachid El Ghazali, says Villa have an interest in the midfielder who has been Belgium`s Player of the Year in the last two seasons.

One site has us after Wolves striker Kevin Doyle for £9million. However it is just a gossip site who never back up their stories with any substance or facts, so despite Doyle having been linked several times, I think we can dismiss this as an attempt to get some hits on their site.

I am hoping we do better than Doyle; is he good enough? I would prefer Kenwyne, Parker and Ireland...Parker to slowly replace Petrov and Ireland to step in and offer a different pair of shoes to Milners...Kenwyne would ensure we have a big man up front who is young and fit and when given the right service - a good striker. We can afford all those and perhaps one more luxury buy like Benayoun or Keane at 8m.

I would be happy with Doyle. Can't say I know much about Boussofa, but he certainly sounds good. West Ham signed Hitzlesperger today, wish we could have him back :( I loved him.
