Moral Indignation Warning - Given Taps Up Milner

Moral Indignation Warning - Given Taps Up Milner

And so the tapping up starts... (continues?)

Manchester City goalkeeper Shay Given has been talking about another club's player, in this instance our very own James Milner who he says he would love to see at Man City.

He said on Sky Sports News

'He has had a great season at Aston Villa. He played some fantastic football when I was at Newcastle with him as well. He's a quality all round player. He has got bags of ability, a great left foot and right foot, so he's a very good talent. If he comes to the club great, if he doesn't he has had a great time under Martin O'Neill at Aston Villa.'

Now usually I would climb so high onto my high horse I'd be refused insurance due to the danger... however I can't this time because Richard Dunne said the same about his former team mate Stephen Ireland last week.

Damn you Dunney, I could have had all sorts of fun ranting and raving about City and their lack of common decency....!

Remains to be seen whether Manchester City do return with an improved bid. The bid in my opinion would have to include Ireland, if it did, I am not sure we'd be much weaker, I would still rather see James stay mind you, but somehow, I don't think that is going to happen.

Seems from our latest poll, a fair few agree that Milner has had his head turned and is off... blimey I'm typing in tune with the Rolling Stones Midnight Rambler... I've never typed so funkily in my life... I digress.

Will Milner Leave?

No, not really, it asks Milner aside, who would you most HATE to see leave Villa this summer.

So a player from one club saying how good a player is from another club constitutes "Tapping Up"?

lol you've started early chap! Can't really say much given Dunne's comments the other day, just never like it when players talk about other players when there's an obvious interest from the clubs. Bad form.

read the article thaigerblue, I am saying I'd love to be angry about this but Richad Dunne has done similar. It should be so clearly tongue in cheek ! Blimey! lol

i would love milner to stay just as i wanted barry to stay, barry left and we still improved on the previous season, so whatever happens with milner i keep faith in MON and villa will come good again next season! if he goes to city i would want ireland and wright-phillips.
