Warnock To Miss Out For England?

From Vital England:

Who is under threat?

Baines is inexperienced and did little to enhance his chances against Mexico really, so it is a straight battle between him and Warnock. Assuming Warnock is fit, and performs against Japan on Sunday, there is a chance that the Villa man could get in.

Dawson is inexperienced and uncapped, he is a quality defender - do not get me wrong - but this inexperience going into a world cup makes it less likely that the chance to build on this in South Africa will come along.

Although Upson has been a regular in Capello's squads he does not often get into the side, and when he did against Brazil at the end of last year I thought he had a pretty poor game.

Dawson - a bridge, and step, too far for the Spurs man this time round. His time will come though.

If Capello opts to drop 3 defenders Upson will be left behind as well, that said Carragher said that he came out of retirement on the understanding that no one that has been a regular would miss out, if he got in and Upson missed the 23 this would not be the case would it...
