Villa Linked With Players INWARD! Transfer Talk

Villa Linked With Players INWARD! Transfer Talk

PLEASE vote for me (and spread the word to mates etc!) Click Here

Well my word, we are actually being linked with some players inwards today!

The Sunday Mirror say that Tottenham striker Robbie Keane will join Villa for £15million. Must admit, I've said on the forum a few times, I think this one may well be a shoe in. The 29-year-old I believe would have come in January but Spurs (rightly) wouldn't loan him to a close rival so he went and scored 16 goals in 19 games for Celtic instead.

An exclusive by Simon Mullock in The Mirror says that Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland has expressed his wish to leave and the 23-year-old will follow through with a written transfer request. They also repeat the link that City might offer him as a £12million 'makeweight' if there were to attract James Milner to Eastlands. They have a 'source' saying the player feels he needs to move to get his career back on track after missing a lot of the action last season.

The Mirror claim that Villa are willing to offer James Milner a £70 000 a week contract to keep him.

The News Of The World claim that Villa are after Valencia players Nikola Zigic and Miguel.

Apparently a bid of around £9.5million is expected as Valencia need money to clear debts.

We were linked with Miguel last summer and January. Wiki: Click Here

29-year-old Zigic is a giant (6ft 7in) Serbian striker who I think we have also been linked with before. Wiki: Click Here

The News Of The World say that James Milner doesn't want to move to Manchester United or Manchester City and has set his heart on a move to Liverpool instead. ?????

In an exclusive by Dan King and Cliff Hayes, the report claims that Martin O'Neill wants a £40million price tag put on the 24-year-olds head. On the move the paper have a source quoted saying as he was born in Leeds a move to Man Utd wouldn't appeal but a move to Liverpool would.

Ok, that might be the case, but if Liverpool don't bid (they don't have £30-£40m unless they sell Torres or Gerrard) then that is irrelevant! Oh hang on, the report is saying if Rafa leaves then O'Neill might become the Liverpool boss and then he'd want to take Milner.

Few too many assumptions there for me!

A Villa source say that MON is determined, if the player has to leave, to get top dollar, adding 'But if his heart is set on leaving, then Villa must get the absolute top price for him.'

Meanwhile The News Of The World say Sunderland want Man City defender Nedum Onuoha and are ahead of Villa and Newcastle in the race for the 23-year-old who might be available for around £3million. Errr, bovvered?!?!

I'm a fan of Milly, but come on - a bid of anywhere near 20mil plus Ireland....and yes please. Ireland could be top top drawer if he finds form again, and to get a cheeky 20mil to go spend on a top striker.....happy days. Make it happen Villa and let's push on rather than stand still.

It does seem to me that JM is not "fighting to stay", admittedly I don't actually know but off to City with Ireland, Onuha and £20m coming the other way would seem more than acceptable to me. £15 m for Keane....dear God no.... not £15million surely

wouldnt mind keane but think i would prefer doyle out of a straight choice as i think he is as good a finisher and is younger and works harder and would cost less?

Keane? 15 MILLION POUNDS!? Lira maybe. On the Milner thing I just think, if Citeh paid £24m for Lescott then surely we can absolutely rinse them for Milner. I think MON's right, £40m and he's yours. If not, f*** off! Perhaps a deal valued at £40m with players, but I'd be looking for nothing less than £30m, in cash, up front. If they're so intent on buying success at least make em work for it!

claretandbluearmy, Onuoha is highly rated, and for good reason. He outshone Dunne at centreback in Dunne's last season - one of the reasons why Dunne was deemed surplus to requirements. Onuoha would be a good acquisition, but where would he play? Is there any point in replacing Collins, Dunne or Cuellar? I recognise that it would be nice to have a proper right back and move Cuellar inside, but is it going to happen? Even more so than Onuoha, Hart would be a fantastic signing. Ireland, if he was valued at £5m, might be worth a punt, but given he's apparently surplus to requirements, and given his track-record of insanity, £12m is too much.

I feel we should be "bovvered" about Onuoha, i've always thought of him as a really decent centre back, he's young and English aswell. For 3million I would be right in there. Keane for 15million is awful, i'd pay nowhere near that much for him, 10million max but still I wouldn't be majorly happy. I wouldn't say no to Miguel, he seems pretty decent when i've seen him play, but saying that I haven't seen to many Valencia games. If I was going to take any City players top of my list would be, Ireland, Richards, Onuoha and Hart, always been a fan of Hart because of him being a local lad, its rare anything decent coming out of Shrewsbury ;)

I've got it. We send Milner to Liverpool in a swap deal for Torres and Gerrard. That would solve our striker and replace a center midfielder. I say we go with it.
