lol Badger, no problems with the odd tangent, been a good chat I think. Least it's probably the first Monny chat I've actually enjoyed in a few months.

I do think we've hit our limit under Monny, because I can't see 'the problems' being rectified this season when they've been around in previous seasons and not sorted. Stupid thing is though 2-3 more victories (5 definitely) would change everything other than my gripe at entertaining football. I do think it's that close Top 4 wise and we can all pick out games we lost we should've got a point in and more importantly the draws we most definitely should have won.

I suppose that's where my frustration comes from in that we could've done better over the last 2 seasons but held ourselves back, yet Monny's first 18 months we were a delight to watch even when results didn't go our way. Now we have the middle ground where I don't think we play for the majority of the time great football anymore, yet we do draw games in previous years we'd have lost. It's the wrong mix of the two really because our focus is not lose, rather than win at all costs.

So with the problems I think we've moved as far forward as we can expect to, unless Monny is prepared to be less stubborn and take a risk. Yes it might not work, but it can't be anyworse than Heskey on 73 minutes every single time he doesn't start. Which in itself ie Heskey wouldn't be a bad thing IF we had a striker who could play off him or tactics that allowed midfielders to play off him like England do. Big Ead said you pick the tactics to suit your team, we seem to try and pick the team to suit 442 regardless. I think amongst our whole squad we could easily do 3 different types of play. Our problem is the first team regulars suit 451/433 depending on whether we attack or defend, but that isn't what we lead with. Anyway rambling now.

Doesn't mean that I don't see the progress we have made, nor that I don't hope it does click this season.

Maybe the difference also comes from (me at least can't speak for others) I've been living online since 2001 and running sites since then so the split on Monny isn't that unknown, especially online for me but I do think this is probably as polarised as it has ever been, albeit not by much lol. I remember the JG, GT, DOL stuff which was just as bad but I don't remember fans turning on each other the way there's the tendency to do now. That could just be nostalgia though PMSL

Not sure those who criticise have a soap box mate ALSO not sure that all those who voted 'great' don't have legitimate queries/frustrations, just shows that no matter what opinions we as individual fans hold, not that many are dead set against him or asking him to be sacked/moved on. Kind of illustrates what I've tried to say through the season, you can question a tactic, a player use or non use/ a particular game without being an anti or negi ... All good, he's earnt a 5th season, lets hope it is a cracker, that is what we all want isn't it?

Milner or Collins for me. Think Collins has probably stood above Dunne just slightly as the season ran to a close.
