There is a decent question and answers session with Randy Lerner at: Click Here On the fans Randy says: 'I also want to take a moment to extend my gratitude to supporters, people that have stood by our organisation, the club, the players, over the last couple of years. It has been amazing. The enthusiasm, the degree to which people are vocal in their support, certainly in times of doing well and winning games specifically.'

There has been some debate about Martin O'Neill since the quotes from Randy saying the boss is staying:

A few quotes from Villa owner and Chairman Randy Lerner. From The Daily Star he made it totally clear that Martin O'Neill will be our manager for next season. He said: 'I gave him the assurance I wanted to take the team forward. I was not worried he would leave. He wanted to know about my commitment. He asked specifically, 'Where are you, Randy?`. He wanted to know what`s on my mind. There`s money there to be spent, but I`m careful not to simply say, 'Here`s a brand new amount of money, go and spend it`.' Adding, 'And I`m not dismissive of the realities that a player that has received the attention and acclaim of James Milner is going to spark discussion about a move, but we are going to do everything we can to keep him.' Fieldy: Chairman Randy Lerner has talked briefly about his highlights of the season, and it's no surprise to see Wembley figure in his memories. Speaking on the Official Site Randy talked about seeing the fans and the atmosphere they created at Wembley, aswell as picking out our victories at Anfield and Old Trafford as special moments. He also felt a sense of pride in seeing Milner's achievements both on and off the pitch, as well as seeing the continued progress of our reserve and Academy lads. Fieldy: Brad Friedel has said he is more than happy with the progress Villa made last season, although he admits there was an obvious disappointment at missing out on a Top 4 place again. Speaking on the Official Site Friedel insisted it had been a season of great progress and stated 'we're moving in the right direction'. Full quotes: Friedel Pleased With Villa Progress

We asked in our poll what you'd do with John Carew. Surprisingly 72% said Villa should extend his contract, bit surprised at his age, with his injury record etc that people would want it extended but hey, the masses have spoken! :o) 24% said sell and just 4% wanted him to be allowed to run down his contract and leave on a free next season. Must admit, unless a high offer comes in, the latter would be what I'd do if I was a decision maker... depending on what his wages are obviously.

Thought for the day: I was watching the London Marathon and saw one runner dressed as a chicken and one dressed as an egg. I thought, 'this could be interesting' !
