whats all the fuss about, all we have to do is buy 1 striker (keane likely tevez dream), get rid of reo cocker, luke young, steve sidwell. also curtis is a good player we should loan him out would be a total waste of money to sell now he could end up being anoother gary cahill for us. and lets all be happy we still have MON as alot of people think we are like real madrid. we have to accept with the current climate that 6th place is a great place for a team like villa, we will never be top 3 unless we get a russion tax evader or arab billionaire

Out: Bouma, Shorey, Sidwell, Harewood, Heskey, Beye. In: Bent, Bothroyd, Ireland, Clyne and a talented winger who can play on both sides.. someone to give competition to Young and Downing, any suggestions?

Parkez17 - how about Ryan Babel? Yossi Benayoun? David Bentley? Charles Nzogbia? (don't forget we still have Barry Bannan and Marc Albrighton)

Reading between the lines we are going to have a smaller squad next term. Why would lerner give MON more money to spend on players he will not play anyway. NRC is the most competitive midfielder on our books, Luke young is a far better RB. Davies has't done anything wrong. The young players don't get a chance. I would get rid of Sidwell, Heskey, Shorey for starters.

Here's the way I look at it...if we can strengthen up top and get some more goals in the team and more creativity in the midfield, then we don't need to worry about who or what tottenham and man city spend to get. The top 3 sides usually do the business against the lower clubs and often their league standing rests upon how they do against EACHOTHER. If we strenghten, and beat the teams we should beat, then we can still get 4th by beating the teams around us, which we have a decent record against.

Top 4 was lost for us by drawing teams we should beat....we didn't lose it by playing the top 5 sides.. Next year, we change those draws to wins and it doesn't matter what anyone else does.
