O'Neill To Liverpool - Bilic Or McLaren To Villa

Not only do we have press transfer talk about players today....: Click Here , we also have manager moving talk!

Seems 'clear' that Martin O'Neill is staying according to his quotes: Martin O'Neill 'Clearly' Wants Villa Exit...Not!

However the press today not only have MON leaving for Liverpool, they also have our replacement in place!

The Daily Star says that Liverpool are going to go British after Rafa 'mini me Tom Jones look alike' Benitez leaves in the summer and that MON is their target. They say sources close to the Villa gaffer believe there is a genuine chance that he`ll leave - putting Liverpool on red alert.

And who do we get? Well, The Mirror say that Croatia manager Slaven Bilic is the 'shock' favourite. The report claims he may well have been West Ham bound but has pulled out of any talks with a bigger club now expected to grab him.

Sky Sports say a host of clubs including Aston Villa are keeping tabs on former England and Middlesbrough manager Steve McClaren after he has resurrected his reputation from the umbrella man to the miracle man leading Twente to the Dutch title, a major achievement for such a small club. Liverpool, West Ham and Celtic are also looking apparently.

Would Liverpool really tempt MON? You never know in this game and we do have to concede Liverpool are a big club on honours but they seem in a total mess financially with the star players possibly on the way out this summer. Would that appeal to MON who is at a big and stable club with lots still to do here?

Time will tell.

Blic no - Unproven at prem level, we would have another Zola type manager on our hands.....McClaren no way! Imagine how long it would take for the fans and media to turn on him once he has a poor set of results? Let MON buy a striker this summer and have another season.

Why would he take a step backwards to Liverpool? :s

this is why I don't trust sport in newspapers, the writers make up stories to get a reaction...I pity the writers
Avfc94 we do
Squad clear out time, we all know who should go but he will ditch NRC, Hare, Sidwell, etc and we will have a few new faces for another season of average performances.
