Aston Villa Transfer Talk Hotting Up!

Aston Villa Transfer Talk Hotting Up!

Few more stories appearing regarding transfers.

Marlon Harewood is off this summer, no shock there really: Don't Feed The Hare...He's Off

Also Wilfred Bouma is being linked with a move out and Villa have confirmed he will be a free agent and can talk to other clubs about a transfer: Bouma Free To Talk To Other Clubs

Mirror reporter James Nursey says that Villa are after Crystal Palace starlet Nathaniel Clyne to replace Luke Young who apparently wants a return to London (or maybe more to the point, just a return to first team football?) The report also suggests that former Newcastle United full back Habib Beye will also look to leave Villa this summer.

The Daily Mail link us and Blackburn Rovers to Sporting Gijon left back Roberto Canella who they claim is rated at around £10million despite only having one year left on his contract. The link to us is a bit tenuous to be honest.

One of the gossip sites claim Villa are after South American £15million rated 24-year-old Porto striker Radamel Falcao. They claim Spurs are also interested.

I very much like the Stephen Ireland link, although not with James Milner being part of any agreed deal. Ireland is way too good a footballer to waste his time on the Manchester City bench, and I think that a move to Birmingham B6 might be just what he's looking for. I suppose I'm hoping too much that we'll keep hold of our current shining lights, while bringing in additional much needed quality to boost the ranks? I had been hoping that the days of sell to buy had disappeared along with the Ellis era, but if rumours and gossip are correct, it looks like we might just be entering another similar scenario again. Hope not, but I guess we'll find out one way or another over the course of the next few weeks.

Not looking forward to this summer most buys will come late on due to the world cup and then there will be the issue of players settling in, also some of the links are abit worrying, If they are true we are buying a left back to add to the 2 we have got already and losing our 2 right backs which would leave us with none except Cuellar of course!!!!

OUT..Sidwell, Shorely, Beye, Carew, Heskey, Bouma, Harewood, Salifou, Also Nigel Reo-Coker, He is one of my favourites and i believe will be a big loss, but we just aren't using him, and he is better than being a bench warmer and running out hes contract is a concern, I think, Although if we made it know to Real Madrid and Barcelona that we are willing to sell Ashely Young for 30m i think that would be a worthwhile sale with Downing fully commanding the left, get Milner back on the right with Petrov and Ireland down the middle, Abonlahor partnered with someone Like Darren Bent or even higher profile, we need a top goal scorer, 13 in the leabue for Agbonlahor isnt bad, but 10 from Carew is a big concern, we need a real clean out.
