Don't Feed The Hare...He's Off

Marlon Harewood's agent has confirmed he will be leaving Villa Park come the end of the season.

Ok it's not earth shattering news, and some may even have forgotten that 'The Hare' was still with us, but having become bored of probably seeing Heskey constantly in front of him, and then a rarely used Delfouneso taking up the 'other striker' option on the bench he's decided to call it a day.

His agent Phil Sproson told SSN that several teams, both home and abroad have enquired about Harewood's feelings on a move and that Marlon will be sitting down with his family to find the best deal.

That will obviously not include a contract extension from Villa.

'Marlon will be leaving Aston Villa for pastures new.'

Simple, concise and to the point.

Not so sure why he fell out of favour, not so sure why it was deemed Heskey was a better option and not so sure regardless of the goals he did put away for us how it can't be considered potentially the worst transfer thus far under O'Neill's tenure when you factor in what we paid, his wages and the fact we don't even recoup a penny as he moves on.

Oh well, good look Marlon and it's probably more depressing that we have to close the door on a perfectly valid poll option once he leaves.

£10m total fee and wages ! Never started a league game did he ? Total waste of money , not sure who who take on a player happy to sit on the bench and milk a club for every last penny like we have . He's in for one massive pay cut ! Thanks MON and thanks for nothing Marlon !

Not his fault that he was signed, or that he was never given a chance, more a question of why was he bought

Feel a bit sorry for the lad personally. Not the greatest player but tried his hardest for us when he did play (like most players in a MON side), and his goals to minutes played ratio wasn't all that bad for us...

I remember nearly crashing my car when I heard he'd signed ! Yes it's all mon's fault and a complete waste of £10m nobody could argue with that, as Marlon tried whenever he got on the pitch. Like I said on the other hand he's stayed put and milked us for £28k a week , when he could have taken a pay cut and gone elsewhere . Do I blame him ? not one jot ! who in their right mind would pack in a job paying £1.5m a year! just to play football!

To be fair, he did go out on loan, untill injuries hit him (newcaslte i think) , so he wasn't exactly sitting around taking the wages......

Right can we not sign another striker with the surname starting with H. It could get Orrible!

Let's staple Heskey to his backside, and they can both go!
