Vital Villa Goes Racing!

Vital Villa Goes Racing!

Most of you know me as Etouffee the Yank from Louisiana but in another electronic world I am know as James W Dickens (known that way in the real world too but who cares about that!). That world would be the world of Iracing.

So most of you about now are probably wondering 'what is this idiot going on about?' Where I am going with this is that I am a regular Iracer, which is simulated (painstakingly I might add) auto racing. They have both road and oval racing with many tracks and many cars to choose from. Iracing is a service/game where you pay a fee per month to drive and then most of the content is an extra charge however you can start and drive with the content that is provided when you sign up. This however is not an advert for Iracing although it is a great experience if you like auto racing.

As I said there are both Road and Oval courses and many different cars and series. I mainly drive on the road side. As you get better you can progress up the ranks by racing and everyone you race against is a person from somewhere in the world. No AI to deal with here when it comes to other drivers and many of the drivers are real race drivers at some level of the sport.

Currently I am a C level driver so I can still progress up to B and then A and then PRO which is a long way to go. This season which starts on the 3rd of May I am starting in a new series to me.

That is the Star Mazda which is a very fast open wheel road car. When I bought this car (for $15) I knew I wanted to put a custom paint job on it. With custom paint jobs you usually have a sponsor. Some of the Pro guys get people to pay money to sponsor them, but their races are webcasted so there is some exposure for the sponsor.

Well because I am not at that level I wanted to find someone who would not send me a court order to cease and desist using their logo so I picked out on that I figured would enjoy the limited exposure and not charge me to use their name. With that the Vital Villa Star Mazda was born!

Over this coming season (the next 12 weeks) I am going to try and keep up with my progress on Vital Villa and post some screen shots as well as maybe vid of a race lap or 2. Hopefully it will cause others to want to join in the fun and come race too.

Thanks for posting this Fear! Lost, I have been married for 13 years and my wife would rather have me at home sitting at my computer then out at the bar. Yea the F1 car is my ultimate goal. They are going to add one to the service sometime this year. I think it will be the Williams The Star Mazda is somewhat like a mini F1 car! I started my first race in this car last night and came in 6th which wasn't to bad.
