Reserves Gutted But Proud Of Season + Play Off

Ciaran Clark has told www.avfc.co.uk that the reserves were gutted to lose the play off on penalties after drawing 3-3 adding with pens it really is 'the luck of the draw'.

'We took the lead three times and I think we were the better team on the day. We created more chances than they did and it was just so disappointing. All the boys are gutted. Everyone is down but we've got to come back strong next season and hopefully we'll do it again in the league. It is not a nice way to lose but at the end of the day somebody has got to win it.'

He also says overall they are pleased with the campaign which included just two defeats.

And on super coach Kevin MacDonald who has seen us win the reserves league 2300 times (or so it seems) with a great mix of young up and coming players and a few of the first team fringe players, Clark added: 'it has been a great season for the boys, and credit must go to Kev. It starts from training sessions and then he gets us through the games. It was just so disappointing to lose here.'

Villa keeper Andy Marshall added on www.avfc.co.uk 'I thought we did fantastic and I don't think there was much more you could ask from the lads.' Adding 'We've won our reserve league and unfortunately we've lost to Man Utd in the grand scheme of things. But all in all, the players are developing and they are coming on.'

Many thanks krfeskivilla. How old is Forrester now? Seems to have been around for some time - 3 years? - and I would have expected him to have progressed more than he has if he is going to make the first team.
