Vote for YOUR Player of the Year

Vote for YOUR Player of the Year

So James Milner recently won the PFA Young Player of the Year award, and he is almost certainly the favourite for the Villa Fan's Player of the Year but who else is in the running?

James Collins and Richard Dunne are most likely to run Milner close, having formed a solid partnership at the heart of the Villa back four, the two lads signed by Martin O'Neill in the summer to replace Martin Laursen have not disappointed, not sure how anyone could put one ahead of the other to be fair, been as good as each other.

So who else? Gabby Agbonlahor maybe? He has once again increased his contribution in terms of goals and this has probably been his best season yet, more to come next year hopefully.

Stephen Warnock has had a decent season, as has Ashley Young and John Carew.

One other favourite might be Brad Friedel, on the odd occasion a striker has managed to find a way through the wall known as James Collins and Richard Dunne, Brad has been there to keep them out. I think Friedel won the award a couple of times during his Ewood Park days, maybe he could win it here?

Also we have the Young Player of the Year too, Nathan Delfouneso and Fabian Delph are the obvious favourites but others like Marc Albrighton and Ciaran Clark are options too.

Have you say by voting here.

Player of the year would have to be James Collins. Alongside Richard Dunne he has formed arguably one of the most formidable central defensive partnerships in the top flight, and while Richard often picks up the plaudits, James' consistent top rate performances should not be overlooked. Young player of the year? Cieran Clark. Way too good now for mere reserve team outings, yet with Dunne and Collins ahead of him, he might just have to bide his time a little longer. One thing is for certain. Once he makes the breakthrough and gets himself established, he will take some shifting.

I agree with Stig, Milner and Delfouneso. Dunne would be a close second for me though, with Collins obviously almost exactly the same.

To be honest, I think any of our young players would be a little embarrassed to get an award given how little they've played. Perhaps you could give the award on the basis of form for the reserves? I'd say it'd be difficult to argue that Milner has been player of the year, though Gabby, once again, has been our most important player.

Milner, Dunne, Collins and Gabby in that order for me. Special praise to Warnock who battles so hard and Petrov. Yong player, hard to call for me its atoss up between Delp and Delfounso. Overall a excellent season, we have pushed and are still heading in the right direction. It will take time due to Man city untold wealth. Must for the summer is mon staying and bringing in 2-3 top players. Well done Mon 4 a very enjoyable season.
