Aston Villa transfer rumours for today.
Well, West Ham's new co-owner David Yukky Man says apart from Scott Parker, they are willing to sell any of their players this summer and that has led to The Daily Mail saying we will test that resolve by bidding £10million for Carlton Cole.
They say the 26-year-old sometime (not often) England international striker, who you'll remember was on loan to us a while back whilst at Chelsea, has been 'a shining light' for the Hammers this season.
Anyone else from West Ham you'd go for?
The Daily Mail repeat the rumour that Villa are tracking Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland.
The Daily Mail also link us to 28-year-old Barcelona`s defender Alexander Hleb (also linked to Manchester City and Sunderland) who was also linked to Villa whilst still an Arsenal player and if memory serves me right, also last summer. Hleb is on loan at Stuttgart at the moment after not settling at Barca following a near £12million move.
The report quotes his agent: Ferber said: 'For now, he is looking forward to going back to Barcelona but he has good memories of England from his time at Arsenal. He likes English football and there has been interest from Premier League clubs.'
There is a link on one of the more gossipy sites with no sources, paper quotes or the like, saying that Sir Alex Chewalot is more interested in bidding £22million for Ashley Young than going for James Milner. Wouldn't want to lose either but if there was a choice, I'd be less gutted if Ash went, still say the stars of our team would be better sold abroad rather than to teams who we want to catch. Or no sales at all obviously!
Robbie Keane strongly linked to Villa, has been linked with a return to former club Wolves again today.
Manager Tim Sherwood has spoken of his disappointment - and shouldered the blame - for today's one nil loss to Stoke City.
