Europe For 3rd Season + Points Record

Congratulations to Villa for gaining a place in Europe once again for next season.

Villa are now guaranteed a place in the Interflora or Europa League, whatever they are calling it next time around, making it a the third season in a row.

Villa have also beaten their previous points tally in the Premier League (62 was our record before I believe?) with 64 points and two games left to play.

I maintain that it is a great time to be a Villa fan! Screw the tablods and doubters!

Quite badger, I mean, anyone that disagrees with you must be a fool right?

Not at all, VOTN. Just look at the facts. No doubt you'll say MON has had a load of money to spend, but hasn't achieved. Of course Citeh, with their millions should have *****ed it, but they haven't. Why? If you can't see that we've had a good season and you want MON out, you're a fool, plain and simple, imo.

Lets hope we take it seriously this time .

MON has spent a lot of money... but if you look man for man through our first 18 and the first 18 of citeh and the spuds you'll see that man for man we're miles behind on spending. The fact is that this is the 4th season under MON and in each of them we have achieved more points than in the prior season and made good progress in the cups this year.
keithlees1978
Spot on keithlees, although some fools just can't see it. We've just beat the scum and someone has to bring a downer on our situation. I despair sometimes, I really do.

Great achievement. Onwards and upward.

I love villa but i hate the whingers and we have many
rotter82
great win for you guys, hope you can stay above citeh, if spurs don't finish in top 4 then i honestly hope you do, MON is a great manager and as your team gets older you will become much better for it, a work in progress and good luck to you.
spursman79
Arsenal/Villa/Spurs could own the League in a few years with the young players we have :)
Blitz
Funnily enough Badger given you comment 'somebody has to bring a downer on our situation' I think you'll find your the first person to raise the issue of Monny being sacked. Even if Keith is the first person to bring the thread down and turn it into something it's not - a happy thread ruined by the very people who wish to have a pop at other fans because apparently they are negative.

Ironic is it not? Don't worry I expect you'll miss it.

"if you look man for man through our first 18 and the first 18 of citeh and the spuds you'll see that man for man we're miles behind on spending" - we seem fairy even on points though, from what I can see..

And MON cant manage, he's lost the plot, he has to go, we're a poor side, we're lucky, we're not progressing and we're not developing. Really? Give it a break you moaners and groaners. Wake up, smell the roses, Villa Park hasn't seen it so good in years. Two Wembley appearances (one a final), fifth in the premiership with two games to play, oh dear I give up. Yes, lets turf out the manager, upset the applecart, screw up the club. Lets destroy all that's been built and developed in the last three seasons. Lets return to mid table (at best) mediocrity. Come On You Lions! No matter what happens now in our final two games, its been a tremendous campaign. One of which we haven't seen the like in years.

MON, MON,MON GREAT SEASON GREAT MANAGER!!!
astonsteve
I certainly stand corrected. After the 2nd Wembley defeat I thought we wouldn't win another game for the rest of the season. Well done to MON for lifting the players and getting us back in contention!!
Bobby Norman
Oops. To clarify I'm talking about the last hundred years.
