Huge Injury Blow For Fabian Delph

Villa's young midfielder Fabian Delph has been dealt a huge blow as the club have announced his injury, picked up in training last Saturday, is a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament [ACL] in his left knee.

The official site says he'll have ACL reconstruction 'at the appropriate time' and expect him to be out for up to eight months.

I'm sure I speak for all on Vital Villa in wishing him a very speedy recovery.

horrible news. was really hoping he'd progress into the first season and maybe allow or at least enhance the option of 4-5-1. everytime i've seen him play, i've been massively impressed. such a blow to him at such a young age but hopefully he'll come through this stronger than ever. definitely hoping for a speedy one. all the best fablarrrrr!

Damn. At present a vital impact player whilst he's still learning the ropes. At least he's young enough to enjoy his Playstation for the next few months! I wonder who's leg he was trying to break when he injured himself!!!
