Youth Cup Final News and Other Bits

Villa have confirmed the details for the FA Youth Cup Final clashes against Chelsea.

The Final is two legged and the first game takes place at Villa Park on April 29th. Kick off is 7.30pm.

The second leg at Stamford Bridge will take place on May 4th, with a 7.45pm kick off.

The club are running coach travel for the away leg and it will depart at 3.30pm on the day. Tickets are a flat rate £17 but unfortunately there are no disabled facilities available. To book call 0800 612 0970.

Villa booked their place in the final thanks to a good win over Newcastle in the two legs of the Semi and again Benjamin Siegrist took plenty of plaudits for his performances.

It was a stranger day than most for the young goalkeeper as his mum was due to fly over to watch him in the semi final clash at Newcastle, but with the volcano and planes being grounded it was impossible for her to fly over.

Instead she did the following in the words of Siegrist:

'She decided to go by train from Basel - my home town in Switzerland - to Paris first, then from Paris to London and from London up to Newcastle.'

All in she left at 6pm on Thursday and made it to St James' Park at 6pm on Friday, barely an hour before kick off.

If Benji shows half the commitment and determination of his mum and applies it to his career, I'd bet we'll see the lad in the first team in a few short years!
