Young Player Of The Year - James Milner

James 'Milly' Milner has been nominated by the PFA as one of the...erm...nominees for the Young Player of the Year Award.

As fans will know Ash won out last year, so it would be nice to keep the title at the club, but the nomination itself is hardly a surprise given Milly's form and effort - let alone his breakthrough into the England squad that had Capello declaring him 'my future' earlier in the season.

I know some will think it strange that a player who has been around since 16 is considered young, but hey if Rooney and Fabregas can qualify I don't see why we can't think of Milly as baby aswell.

The other nomination is from the other side of the City - Joe Hart - but I'm not sure how many noses will be celebrating given the nasty bankers have taken them over today and they are potentially looking for new owners again...be far funnier if they just wound them up and sold the ground to be fair.

Any, Gordon Taylor said:

'We (the Royal 'we') at the PFA have followed James' career with great interest ever since he approached us for advice as a teenager, and he has been a key member of the Player Management Agency ever since.'

Taylor continues to state they are very proud of the progress that he has made over the last few years and described his growth as a professional this season by saying Milly has 'positively blossomed' in the centre midfield role.

Taylor finishes by congratulating our young Duracell Bunny on making the step up to the full England side. You get the distinct impression Mr Taylor does not expect him to disappear from that squad any time soon.

Congratulations Milly, it's thoroughly deserved and if there is any justice you're odds on for it!

If theres any justice milner will get it, joe hart i doubt will and fabregas hasnt been playing for arsenal that much this season and rooney is gonna get player of the season so why not give it milner he deserves it aswell.

Haha spurs have milner, havin a laugh aint you, can you even afford him? i think not. If he left he would actually want to go to a bigger club what will improve him and make him bigger than he is so basically manchester united. What a deluded and arrogant spurs fan, whats coming to the world these days.

Easily the Young POY imo. If Lennon never got injured hed be up there he was smoking hot till January, but Milner surely deserves the title

He has been fantastisc and would deserve it, ahead of MANCHESTER CITY's Joe Hart, who gets every chance to shine behind the defence of the team he is LOANED to (because they cant aford to pay the bank never mind buy the future England No 1!!!!!!!!!)

Milner would be a worthy winner!! Lennon might have pushed him for it had it not been for his screwed groin!! P.VILLA I notice you havnt been on our site today, nothing to say then!!!?? : )

I just hope we can keep hold of him once the vultures start circling. I get the impression he's happy at Villa and we know how hard MON fought to keep Barry away from L'Pool. He is immense every game. I just wish all of our players had the same desire to win the ball. He constantly makes himself available. I'd love to see him remain at Villa for many years to come.

The only team he will leave us for is utd.

If we qualify for fourth he'll be at White Hart Lane having his medical before the afternoon is out.

James has without a doubt enjoyed a superb season, arguably our most consistent performer, and surely an absolute certainty to be included in Fabio's World Cup squad. The important thing now is for us as a club to convince him that we're heading in the right direction, and that he doesn't have to move away from Brummagem B6 to realise his ambitions. And that my friends, is not going to be an easy task, certainly not if Manchester United are indeed keen on luring him to Old Trafford.

Tony Rocky Horror is hilarious, milner to spurs hahaha, why would he want to lower his standards he would actually want a step up in his career.
