Villa's Battle For 4th - Update 6

Villa's Battle For 4th - Update 6

Our latest update for the battle for 4th place. Last one: Villa's Battle For 6th, Sorry, 4th - Update 5

Spurs fall, City lead, and Villa hang right on in there!

So… here's an update following our victory away to Bolton on our fight for the much-maligned top-4 spot!

Manchester City put themselves firmly in the driving seat now, by beating Burnley away (must confess I had Burnley to scrap a point here as they've been fairly reasonable at home)

Spurs slipped up against everyone's bogey team this season (including themselves!) Sunderland, with X-Spur Darren Bent (in the summer - yes please!) bagging a brace!

Everton drew with West-Ham, which surely spells the end of any lingering hopes of nicking that last berth.

Liverpool drew against the blose (a result I had down tbh). Apparently, Gerrard's face told a story all on its own!

And Villa - well of course we all know we ran a fairly convincing (apart from only scoring the one) win against a tough Bolton team on their own patch.

SO…… this is now how the table might look!

Man City - 68
Villa - 66
Spurs - 64
Liverpool - 64
Everton - 63

Here's what I have down for our next round, after our FA cup game of course:

Villa - Everton - Draw
Liverpool - Fulham - Draw
Man City - Blues - City Win
Tottenham - Arsenal - Arsenal win

I think it's going to take 1 team to really shine and draw away from the pack, something which up to this point nobody seems to want to do!

can't wait for the Everton game, I think that is the crunch. Sort of looking forward to and dreading the local derby because they'll want to (rightly) do all they can to stop us finishing 4th and do owe us one from the last score. Can someone remind me again, what was it?!?!? :o)

If we beat Everton & Blues, i'd expect us to finish 3rd lol. Seriously though, we're overdue a fantastic result, and beating Everton, even at home, would be awesome. We shall see however! Man City are certainly in the driving seat now though

Hard to see past FC Denim of Manchester, look great at home, can see them beating both united and spurs at the council house. Wolves/sunderland home games will ultimately prove costly to us

As I have said in an earlier post, I think that Spurs will only get one point from their next 3 games, and that we will beat Everton, Blouse and Hull. The Citeh game for me is the key to how high up we do finish in the league because they are now the ones most likely to be 4th

p.villa, I've responded to your uneducated attempt to dig us about Bent. If you must come and represent the Villa fans on our sight please try watching a game or even MOTD before making silly comments that have no foundation. Giving stick a week before you play the same team that embarrassed you last week probably isn't such a good idea either now is it.

The reaction makes it all worth while. I have a feeling, right or wrong, that your neighbours can win against City. Good luck in your game this week.

Nothing wrong with a wind up if the contents actually makes sense. For instance you lot getting completely embarrassed by Chelsea the other week actually happened and therefore makes sense as a bit of banter. You saying Bent tore us apart is just a mindless comment from someone who doesn't know what they are talking about. Sunderland tore us apart granted, that waste of space Bent did not and in fact in a game where he should have scored 4 missed 2 penalties. We actually owe him for NOT tearing us apart cause a half decent striker would have.

MJBSpur- well hes much better than defoe who u lot call a decent striker, bents scored 22 goals whereas defoes scored 17, i personally think to score two goals is pretty good even if one was a penalty and the fact he missed two pens but then maybe he was nervous cause of the fact tht he was playing against his old club bt also it was a gr8 save by Gomes for both i think if i remember correctly not sure though, anyway he still scored two goals
