Aston Villa Striker Transfer Gossip

Aston Villa Striker Transfer Gossip

A tale of two strikers here!

According to quotes in the Sunday Mercury, Villa's bright prospect striker Nathan Delfouneso might look for a loan move next season to get first team experience.

Sounds an ideal solution if Villa do push on with a new striker (or can I be greedy and say ... or two?) in the summer. There is no way they'll sell the Fonz but at his age, he isn't quite ready for a regular spot in the first team just yet and sitting on the bench of making just the odd appearance must be very frustrating.

Fonzy says it will be up to the manager adding, 'I'll just trust his decision and I believe that being here is better for my development, after all he obviously knows what he's doing.'

Meanwhile, this link will keep coming I would think. Villa, according to the Sunday Mail, are lining up a £10million bid for Spurs striker Robbie Keane who is currently on loan to Celtic.

No quotes, so maybe just a report putting 2+2 but it wouldn't surprise me, not often quality like that is available and we so need a striker. I know some think he is over the hill but I can't see how + he can play as an attacking midfielder as well + knows where the goal is and isn't afraid to shoot.

Shame we can't nick Darren Bent as well and really have a strike force able to take on the top four challenge!

Regarding the Fonz, shouldn't he have been out on loan this season? From what O'Neill has said, he'll be more involved next season, so can;t see him going out on loan.

Forget Keane i dont want any player from the chavs and besides he is past it now he really wouldnt make a difference to our average strikeforce. We need a player like darren bent but i dont see why we dont try out luck with a good foreign striker who could turn out to be the class we need to break the top 4 next year. Delfouneso should also be sent out on loan i dont think he is ready yet he needs to bulk up abit first and have some experience.

the draw of european football maybe champions league football will be enough to tempt bent to coming to us, no way would tottenham sell him to us one of their main rivals and we needed to spend our budget on mainly defenders, i would not have had bent over collins and dunne and im sure most would agree but this summer is different the defence is sorted really so i would assume the liks of beye, salifou, harewood and a few others will be allowed to leave and we will have whatever budget available to spend on striker(s) and maybe and some more quality to the midfield if we get chaps league then a bigger budget and then how could bent say no

Think the Carlton Cole of now and the Aston Villa of now are totally different things though 1958?

Bellamy in the summer. Craig not David, that is.

Agree with all those points Albarnista, I do know he is highly rated by them at Villa and as said, I think his cover was needed due to Heskey and JC being injury prone but yes, can't argue about loans with a 24 hour notice. Guess we never do know the full reasons behidn things but agree that the reserves level just isn't going to challenge or develop him now. Think there were press links to loans earlier in the season, forget without looking up the old transfer gossip threads which clubs he was linked to though.
