Villa Come Out Well In Joint Eds 4th Place Poll

Villa Come Out Well In Joint Eds 4th Place Poll

Vital Football editors from Vital Villa, Vital Spurs, Vital Man City, Vital Liverpool and Vital Everton all got together.... which was nice.... and asked on our respective sites:

If we can't make 4th, who do you want to finish there?

Vital Villa results:

Everton 55%
Spurs 36%
Liverpool 5%
Man City 4%

Vital Spurs results, as written by OxfordSpur 'In Eurovision fashion:'

Aston Villa a ridiculous 43%
Everton an un-ambitious 38%
Man City a wealthy 11%
Liverpool a crushing 8%

Vital Liverpool results:

Villa 42%
Spurs 31%
Man City 18%

Surprised to see any votes for this one, but Everton got 9% ... a visit from some Toffees you'd think?

Vital Man City came in with Spurs and Villa joint:

Villa 44%
Spurs 44%
Everton 7%
Liverpool 5%

And finally, the long shots at Vital Everton came up with:

Spurs 52%
Aston Villa 38%
Man City 7%

and of course, a predictable Liverpool 3%

Proving exactly what? Well, nothing really, but interesting nevertheless!

I think the most interesting thing to come out of the poll is that Everton fans apparently don't like the Villa. I'd love to know why Toffees!

But the most relevant point to make is that the 'bigger' clubs went for us because they don't see us as a threat. If we got 4th, I think that the other clubs would fancy their chances of knocking us off. This certainly applies to Everton as well, because even with CL money they really don't have the resources to be competing. That they still do to some extent is enormous credit to David Moyes. If Spurs finished 4th, with the wealth they have, they would have an opportunity to be long-term CL participants with some shrewd management. In short, they are a threat. I think most neutrals wouldn't want to see Liverpool finish 4th simply because they're one of the old big 4. And there is plenty of jealousy for Man City for obvious reasons. I get the impression that Villa are unjustifiably patronised outside of Birmingham because a) neutrals underestimate the size of the club, and b) underestimate the amount of money we've spent.

Think that the results may have been influenced by other fans. Everton have only got 8 vital members.

Think that is a misreading of it albarnista, the managers and clubs certainly see us as a threat anyway. A lot of the fans I talk to and some of the eds on Vital seem to have a high opinion of Villa, very few who do the interview swaps have much bad to say about us and certainly a good few of the eds before the Carling Cup final emailed me to wish us luck and saying they hoped we won. Then again, maybe they were just being nice to da boss man! lol And agree with Longman, 38% is good. Bit harsh villan444, not all sites have the active comments etc for members league but they get good readerships and people voting on polls etc. Certainly not just 8 members dude!

I've nothing particularly against Liverpool, certainly not when compared alongside Manchester City, Tottenham, or Everton, but I must admit that I'd like to see a 'new face' break up the old and tired top four monopoly. It has to be for the good of the game long-term to see another club representing England in the Champions League, and at this moment in time it looks as if Manchester City will be the club to break into the elite.

neva heard any1 say anythink nice about the spuds and i certainly don't like them so i know for a fact that we and all the other sites have been visited by spurs fans who r voting on these sites, doesn't really show what we created the polls for if fans r voting on other teams sites, not really much point of it
