Villa's Battle For 6th, Sorry, 4th - Update 5

Update in race for....! :)

Last one: Villa's Battle For 4th Place - Update 4

Oh dear, what a result..

Never mind, how do we now stack up in our faltering rush for 6th?

Oops, did I say 6th, I meant 4th of course!

Well, as predicted, we took sod-all from Chelsea, so this is now how the mini-league looks:

4th - Spurs - 67
5th - Man City - 66
6th - Villa - 66
7th - Liverpool - 64
8th - Everton - 63 (Added Everton's results in)

Now I have us down as needing to win 4 and draw the other 3 remaining games..

Possible, but looking improbable.

Guess we need to see how the team bounce back from this defeat next week!

Remaining predictions:
Bolton(A) - Win
Everton(H) - Draw
Portsmouth(A) - Win
Birmingham(H) - Draw
City(A) - Draw
Blackburn(H) - Win
Hull(A) - Win

(JF: our poll asks if we don't finish 4th, who would you like to finish there? Have asked the eds of the four sites to ask the same with us in it so we can compare!)

Can see you beating Brum so you should add 2 more points to your total imo. Can also now see Spurs, City and especially Liverpool picking up at least 2/3 more points each aswell. Gonna go right to the wire this - The 2 key games are both of ours away at City

at least we are all in for an interesting end to the season, same at the top and same for a good few teams at the bottom eh Huddersfield Yiddo? Shame we are talking about 4th and not 1st though, how football has changed!
The Fear
Its a long shot but 1 win coupled with a defeat for one of the others and your back in the mix...if we win on Saturday all of a sudden you start thinking you may be able to get back involved. Who would have thought that we would fail to win any of the last 3?...who would have thought Everton would beat Man City, Wigan beating Liverpool? You just never know....I think the frustration more than anything is knowing that had we just won 1 of those 2 home games we would still be right in the thick of it instead of being on the fringes hoping that you can sneak a win to get you back in the mix.

we're having a terrible run but Liverpool were hoping to win the title so ha ha ha it ain't that bad.

Fear, thanks for gettig rid of that annoying side pop-up.

I imagine we'll be the first choice of most of the otehr fans, because we aren't seen as being a threat. I'm so looking forward to this patronising pat on the head.

i would be glad if, we reached the fa cup final ( hopefully win ) ifnot still a final, finish 5th/6th for europa leage, and then next season try get to europa leage final, and 4th place, buy a new striker, soo 2 finals not bad!

4th is still very much a possiblilty, an surely were fna bea blues, an maybe everton, so four more points no that
jimjim96
to be honest though, if we did get fourth, will it really be that great? its just extra games on an already stretched squad. you've seen whats happened when we were knocked out of the Europa League early on, so not finishing fourth mau be a blessing

It's not over yet, Spuds have a tough run in with Arsenal and Chelsea at home , Manyoo and Citeh away and Citeh have to play Manyoo, Spuds and us at home and Arsenal away. Liverpool have Chelsea at home, Blouse away and not much more to worry them. On Paper, Everton's toughest game is against us, so they are right in the mix. Our game at Citeh will be key to the whole picture.

huddersfieldyiddo - i will be very much hoping so, but you know how derby games can go, hence i have us to drawi it... but i'm trying to be realistic

on current form we'll be lucky to get 60 points , I think that is being a little bit more honest? I have sneaking feeling we'll lose again before the end of the season. If we were in top form I'd agree with you but we aren't are we and that is a major issue in your honesty ! C&B spec's off
