Gabby Set To Miss Sunderland Clash

Gabby Set To Miss Sunderland Clash

Sky Sports have a video conference with Martin O'Neill .... Click Here

The Villa boss admits that Gabby Agbonlahor won't be fit for Wednesday nights game against Sunderland as he has is still recovering from a stubbed toe.

He told Sky Sports that Gabby is improving but that Wednesday will be a game too soon.

'..the scans are okay and he's improving, but it's slower than we thought.'

Damn, his pace has been missed and no, I'm not going to mention who should start with John Carew ! :o)

Dissapointed with this news, he was missed on saturday and will be missed tommorow night. Aslong as young, milner, carew and downing are on form then we should still get the win but heskey must perform better (ive said that so many times haha).

He has scored a hat trick. I remember one for Liverpool against Derby back in 2000. However, he doesn't score enough, enough said.

sorry p.villa i didnt mean yourself i just menat the general heskey negativity. I also dont think hes good enough for us, but ill be behing him 100% while he continues to put 100% effort in. Hes so frustrating as he should be a great centreforward

At least with Heskey you're guaranteed 100% effort, even if it's not always good enough. Carew is one of the best strikers in the league if he's giving it his all, but that doesn't happen often enough. It's obvious we need at least one new striker, but there's nothing we can do about that until the summer, so we should support the players we've got for now. However, I do worry when Carew and Heskey play together, because they're too similar - I'd rather see Delfouneso given a chance, or Carew up front on his own with an extra man in midfield.
