Ashley Delighted With 3 Points

Ashley Delighted With 3 Points

Ashley Young was delighted to see Villa get back to winning ways against Wigan in our battle for fourth place.

Young was speaking on the Official Site this morning, and described the game as being the polar opposite of the Stoke clash, saying it was more like a 'basketball game' given it was end to end and open.

'We are delighted to get three points, we've always said we've got to take these games in hand if we want to keep pushing for the fourth spot and that is exactly what we've done.'

Ash also described McCarthy's own goal that gave us the lead as 'freak' and he's unsure how it went in, but he implies we still deserved the goal and the lead given how many chances we had in the first half, let alone throughout the game.

'We didn't hold the lead for very long at all and they got back into it but we came out and knew we were going to score again.'

As we know, thanks to Milly we did and given the chances we had it could've been an even greater margin had it not been for bad finishing really.

Now would be the perfect time for a winning streak, so bring on the next one!

Yeah - spurs have a tough run in and pool have dropped so many points that they almost out of it. Definately the spurs Vs villa match is huge...
