'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Villa Times - 15/03/2010

Unoial Villa News...

Fieldy: Stephen Warnock has praised his fellow defenders after the 'never say die' attitude and performance against Stoke. Speaking on the Official Site this morning Warnock was full of praise for his colleagues as they battled admirably against Rory Delap's thunderous balls and Stoke's general aerial threat. 'It was a hard fought point. We knew it was going to be a battle.' Full article: On Top Of Our Game

ThorpyUK: I was just having a wonder as to why our attack has been as toothless as a pensionable bear with terminal tooth rot. If you all remember back only as far as season 2007/08, we scored a phenomenal 71 goals - an average 1.87 per game. This season to date we have scored only 37, at an average 1.37 per game. Take out those two 5-goal hauls against burnley & Bolton, and that drops to a tame 1.08 in 25 games :( Full article: What's Up With Villa's Attack?

Fieldy: Martin O'Neill has lauded the capture of Collins and Dunne as being amongst the best pieces of transfer business he's ever been involved in. The full article is here on the Official Site if you want to read it, and although I know I'm now meant to agree or disagree and ramble for a bit, I think that paragraph sums it up perfectly. They are amongst the best transfer business O'Neill has ever been involved with, most certainly whilst at B6 at any rate - so that's kind of article over really. I suppose I better use a few quotes just so you have a taste so to speak. Collins and Dunne Absolute Bargains

Vital Lincoln: On A Wing and a Prayer Keith At 2pm today at Lincoln Cathedral, a great wonder of the spiritual word will host the tributes to a great wonder of the footballing world as our city and nation pay homage. Keith Alexander was clearly a man who did things his way, earnestly, honestly and on limited resources.

Thought for the day: 'Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me for the path is narrow.. In fact, just pee off and leave me alone.'

Really appreciate and enjoy this 'Archives' feature Jonathan, I think its a great addition to the site. There's times that its good to look back and reflect, relive what was going on at a particular time, and it allows you the opportunity to re-evaluate your thoughts and line of thinking about a specific individual or topic.

Looking forward to 3 points against Wigan .. Martin says he will rotate ..that probably means he will walk out to the pitch and spin round in circles .. lets hope he can find a balance between resting players and getting a good result .. seriously hoping so

I'm with you Doug4ever. A fresh face in the line up this evening, maybe Marc Albrighton or Nathan, might just provide that little extra impetus. He doesn't have to make wholesale changes, far from it, but a fresh spark might just be the spur we need. We really do need the win.
