Unoial Villa News...

Liverpool are again being linked with Martin O'Neill. Some rubbish report saying that the popular scouse owners want him to replace Benitez. Can't be bothered to go into it, just total rubbish, why would he go to a club where the owners are at war with each other and the fans are at war with both of them!?

John Carew, you won't be surprised to hear, is up for the FA Cup 'E.ON Player of the Round' award after he ripped Reading apart in the second half of the 1/4 final. You can do your bit and vote for him! Full details: John Carew, Carew, Needs Another Vote Or Two!!!

Leeds have had to return 20-year-old on-loan left-back Shane Lowry for treatment and scans on a knee injury that has kept him out of Leeds’ last two games.

Villa 4-0 Blues... you need no more info than that really to click the link and read Sheriff Kimbo's excellent reserves match report. Great to see Wilfred Bouma and Marc Albrighton back in the team as well. Full report: Sheriff Kimbo At The Reserves (vs Blues)

Villa's FA Cup semi-final clash against Chelsea has been confirmed for Saturday April 10 at Wembley Stadium. Kick-off 5pm. WEMBERLEY WEMBERLEY WE'RE THE FAMOUS ASTON VILLA
AND WE'RE GOING TO WEMBLEY Ticket info will no doubt follow shortly.

By the sounds of it Gabby Agbonlahor should be fit for the Stoke away game following his virus. Martin O'Neill told the official site: 'He was pretty ill on Sunday. That was a real disappointment but fate sometimes is in other people's hands. As it turns out, it was in John Carew's feet! Gabby missed training again on Monday but we are hoping it is just one of those 48 to 72 hour viruses.

Martin O'Neill has challenged his strike trio of Gabby Agbonlahor, Emile Heskey and John Carew to continue banging in the goals as Villa look for a strong finish to the season. Full article: www.avfc.co.uk

This is fun! A look back to our archives and first ever article and first Villa Times on Vital (started as an email list the VT did!) Oh and an anti Ellis rant and a censorship of my interview with the Man Utd official site years back! Vital Villa Archives - Part 1

Fieldy: Daniel was simply Devine for many Villans the other night as he bagged as last minute equaliser to set us on our path to glory in the Youth cup Quarter Finals. Full quotes: A Divine Fairytale

Fieldy: A Hell Of An Experience Is probably what Youth star Ryan Simmonds wanted to say today after recovering from last nights Youth Cup Quarter Final. Falling that I can think of a few far more uncouth phrases to describe the match against Fulham that saw Villa come from behind to push the match into extra time, before equalising again in basically the last minute of the match to push the game to penalties. We of course won after two fantastic penalty saves from a young lad called Calum Barrett. Speaking to the Official Site this morning, Simmonds described the win as a fantastical emotional rollercoaster and admits he fell to his knees when Fulham took the lead again in extra time. Fieldy: Mark Delaney has backed James Collins to be the future long term Wales Captain after his brief spell as deputy recently. Collins has taken over 'armband' duties with the absence of Craig Bellamy, for the matches against Lichtenstein and Sweden, and Delaney believes the 'no nonsense defender' would be a fantastic permanent choice. Full article: Captain Collins Says Delaney

Fieldy: Ashley Young has said he will be saving his Carling Cup runners up medal...I thought that would be obvious myself. Speaking to the Birmingham Mail it does kind of seem a daft question when taken out of context, but Ashley explains that even though we lost against Manchester United, he's extremely proud of the fact the club managed to reach the final and that he got to taste the Wembley experience. Full article: Ashley Plans To Keep Losers Medal

Thought for the day: My friend told me he was impotent. I thought 'There's more important people in the world than you mate'.
