March Hoodoo? What March Hoodoo?

March hoodoo?

What March hoodoo?!

Since Martin O'Neill has been boss of Aston Villa we've not won in March.

WE HAVE NOW!!

To follow, stats, managers reaction, match report from Glensider away and so much more (well, maybe not that much more if I'm honest)

We're the mighty Aston Villa
And we're going to Wemberley (again)
Wemberley, Wemberley
We're the mighty Aston Villa
And we're going to Wemberley

baffling old game this football!
The Fear
We were lucky to break the hoodoo today too.

There was a team called City, they came from Birmingham, they got knocked out of the FA cup, by a man called av-a-ram, they dreamt about the final, they really *****ed it up, and now they'll watch the villa go and lift the FA Cup! Lucky? how is 4-2 lucky. If we'd have gone 4-0 in the first half, then conceded 2 in the second would it have been lucky? Football is about 2 halves not 1 and it makes no difference what half you score your goals in just what the score is come 90 mins.

I did start to panic about the whole March thing at 2-0. It wasn't so much the result of today's game I was panicking about but more the rest of March. I just thought "Not again, please?". Second half (esp first 15 minutes) was awesome. MON's half time team talks do seem to do the trick. An FA Cup Final victory is long overdue. Could this be the year? UTV! Wem-ber-lee, Wem-ber-lee........!

2-0 down we looked dead and buried like we were against Blackburn. The spirit to come back from that is more than luck I think. I can't explain how MON is doing it, I think there are so many little bits and bobs that I'd change but he keeps getting the results, so who are we to argue?!
The Fear
Longman we were lucky we were not dead and burried after 45 minutes, it has to rank as one of the most uninspired Villa performances I have ever watched. Be honest when the halftime whistle blew you would have settled for a draw!!!

Really I think the team talk is fairly simple, he just says how about some of you actually start running, the difference when they actually run and anticipate instead of just wondering around is remarkable, Young just watched a far post chance drift out in the first half when all he had to do was lean forward to header it in, in the second half he got on the end of it, Carew went down the wing in the second half and the commentators said whoa where did he get that turn of speed from, it was simply because they had never seem him run before, Heskey even ran a bit before he fell down, lovely dummy by Cuellar for the first goal ;-)

Marvellous Martin. That's all I have to say. I take issue with the lack of forwards, but today Mr O'Neill you played a blinder. Well done.
