Who Would You Like To Face In FA Cup?

Our latest poll asks who you would most like to face at Wembley in the FA Cup final (if we get there obviously!)

I have had this conversation with a couple of blue nose neighbours, one thinks a local derby for an FA Cup final would be great the other agrees with me, it would be too much to control, too stressful and there would be all sorts of 'incidents' going down, at the ground and going home.

I personally think it would be a nightmare and can you imagine if the unthinkable happened? You'd never live it down!

No, I'll take an easier option if you don't mind, I'll take Chelsea and get revenge for our no show in 2000! Or any of them to be honest!

Yes, I know we have to get there ourselves first, I'm not being arrogant, just wondering when.. sorry, if (!!) who would you like to face?!

What are your predictions for the semi's as well? Who is going through, who is going out?

I don't like this one bit, lots of people talking about how they are gonna get to wembley, how many goals we will beat Reading by, very nervous about this game, we are massive favourites however have just been beaten in the biggest game in 10 years and have never won a game in March under the current manager, very very nervous. Hopefully the players will bounce back and beat Reading and we will be off to Wembley again, but lets not count our chickens (I understand the article says 'if we get there' but I think we are possibly setting ourselves up for a fall).

not at all YJ, I make it clear 'if' (as you acknowledge) this is just called football debate mate, wanting a talking point and to start moving away from the Carling Cup. IF we get there, who do you fancy, am I alone in not wanting Blues, would you like Chelsea to get 'revenge' for our awful no show, an 'easier' team etc. Not saying we are going to get there, just what IF. That is what football is about, the dreams and aspirations.

Despite what I said, I have gone for Pompey, I want us to win and they are our best chance. Though it would be lovely to beat Chelsea on the 10th anniversary of our loss to them in this very competition, I would prefer a slightly easier test.
young_jonah
Spurs.
benji_starsky_avfc
Pompey would be a good one because they also need the cash injection. Got a feeling they might start doing better now as the pressure is off them, they are going down etc so it might settle the players nerves (if that makes sense)

anyone got any feeling for who is going out/through this weekend?

I think this Reaing game is a lot tougher than people think, maybe a 50-50 call....if we made it though i'd pick Fulham, just because if we lost i'd like them to win. Plus i HATED the fact that we lost the CC final to a team who don't even care about it!
MrZeus
I'm a Fulham supporter and I like our chances, but if we get knocked out, I'll be hoping you lot take the prize.

I would settle for Pompey who after the Semi go into liquidation. And we win by getting a bye:-) This also means Small Heath are beaten in QF. Cheapest cup final ever!!! We would have had the Wembley celebrations beating Spurs in the semis:-)

BTW also means all the corporate bods get to eat prawn sandwiches for 90 minutes without being interrupted by football and the FA lose out on all the gate excessive receipts/food

To the one who said Spurs, I'm sorry but this season has proved to me and all other non-Villa fans that you can't match Tottenham. Strange isn't it? You play well against us and Chelsea but not Spurs. In both games, you've played this season, you've been battered mercilessly and have been very lucky not to have lost both home and away games.
ForeverUnited
Hello Forever United. I think instead of judging 2 teams based on a couple of games (neither of which we even lost), you should look at the PL table which is a true reflection of a teamís quality. If we win our 2 games in hand weíll be above Spurs (I know thatís a fairly big Ďifí), and thatís after playing our hardest fixtures already- Spurs have still got some of theirs to come. Plus, how many seasons has it been since they finished above us? We had the better of both games against Man Utd in the league and look what happened to us in the final, so whoís to say the same canít happen to Spurs? Although Iím guessing you just said that to try and get some angry responses?!

Spuz/official long ball merchants of the year would surely be the easiest as they severely struggled to beat us twice.

can you lot raise the spend for another trip to Wembley :-)

Merlin you cheeky bugger! Im personally going to have to sell my black pudding collection to finance a bottle of water down there, (Im keeping the Porsche mind) IF we were to get through, I wouldnt want to see Small Heath there because I dont believe people outside of the Midlands have any idea how nasty that would be. I would seriously consider not going if it were the case. If we do then I will petition the police for proper protection

If the quarters go with league position the semi finalists will be Chelsea, Spurs, Blues and us. I would then expect the Met police to step in and say 'No all London / all Birmingham semis.' Chelsea - Spurs one day then Villa - Blues the next. Doesn't bear thinking about.

every single villian should want blues in the final

Cant see why, I want them out as soon as possible
Trekker
MrZeus - You never had the better of us both times this season. At OT, you scored and then had to defend all game. At Villa Park, even after going down a man so early we could've won that match. You had the better of the scores if thats what you meant but certainly didnt play better than us.
ForeverUnited
I thought at VP you didn't carve out a single chance, and your only goal came from a lucky OG? And OT is different because any team going to OT has to sit back and hit you on the break, that's not you getting the better of us, that was our own game plan. And it's not like you missed a load of chances in that one either.
MrZeus
Blues, without doubt. Would have to be heavily policed though.

same as Trekker, I think any Villan should want Blues out, not to face them at Wembley. It would be a horrible day for all!
