Nice touch this, the club have released the following short statement:

The Board, Senior Management and playing staff of Aston Villa Football Club would like to thank all of the Villa fans - both at Wembley Stadium and watching around the world - for their fantastic and heartfelt support of the team on Sunday.

agree sirdennis, was pleased many stayed behind to cheer the players and think it did make a difference.

There was just noway I could have left without watching the lads pick up their medals. We out sung the Ure all the way, no voice hardly when I got to Euston. Fantastic, everyone there was great.

What, no thanks for Phil Dowd for refusing to "spoil the game" by sending Vidic off? Surely some mistake...

I was disappointed so many left before the medals were given out but I did kind of expect it. However I was even more shocked how many Manure fans left. YOU WON FFS!!! When our train got back to stations near Birmingham the announcer said that we'd been a "credit to our club".

Lets hope its a statement we get used to hearing from the management.

Our club is definately a cut above the rest.

Regardless of how many trophies Man Utd win, the one thing they will NEVER have is supporters as good as us! I was proud of the team on Sunday and I was also proud of the people around me for never giving up on the lads.
