4 Villans in England Squad

There will be a quartet of Villa players walking like Egyptians ahead if Wednesday's friendly game, as Fabio Capello calls up the usual suspects alongside a recalls for Stewart Downing and Stephen Warnock.

Though perhaps a touch generous to call it a recall for Warnock, who has played just 4 minutes in the white shirt of England, it is nothing short of what the Villa left-back deserves irrespective of whether or not it is due to Ashley Cole's injury and John Terry's infidelity causing a full-back head-ache for Italian manager.

Emile Heskey and James Milner join Stefen and Stewart, interestingly with Milner listed amongst the defenders? I can`t fathom where this "Milner for left back" idea came from, as I only ever remember seeing him there briefly once in a Villa shirt. Gabby Agbonlahor and Ashley Young were not selected.

Controversy has hit the England squad further, with Ryan Shawcross named in the squad only an hour after breaking the leg of Aaron Ramsey in a 50/50 challenge (unless you are Arsene Wenger.)

Congrats to the Villa boys, the game is being played at Wembley (WEMBERLLEEEEE!) Stadium at 8pm on Wednesday.

England Squad in Full: David James, Robert Green, Joe Hart; Wes Brown, James Milner, John Terry, Matthew Upson, Joleon Lescott, Ryan Shawcross, Leighton Baines, Stephen Warnock; David Beckham, Theo Walcott, Frank Lampard, Gareth Barry, Steven Gerrard, Michael Carrick, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Stewart Downing; Emile Heskey, Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney, Peter Crouch, Carlton Cole.

Think its a bit hard on Ashley that Downing gets the nod ahead of him. Ashley has been back on form in recent weeks, but then I suppose Downing has the advantage being a natural left-footer in a squad short of left footers

Surprised Carlton Cole got in ahead of Gabby too!

Downing has been assisting a fair old whack recently and Ash's crosses are still hitting the first man 9/10 times.

I'm sure that it's a myth that Downing is left footed at times!

Didn't Capello always say it's who's playing regularly for their clubs... Walcott hasn't played regularly for months and when he has he's done nothing. I'd have young over him any day. Walcott is living on the back of the goals he scored against Croatia
