MASSIVE Villa v Utd Wembley Build Up

MASSIVE Villa v Utd Wembley Build Up

Right, a nice little build up to the Wembley final this sunday (you might know the time and date already?!)

Martin O'Neill says at Wembley it will be tough to shut the game down so is expecting a nice open day. He says Villa have confidence from being the only team to win at Old Trafford this season. At least he is saying he won't be trying to contain Man Utd as that would lead to a bit of a dour game I'd have thought?

Full interview: BBC MON interview

Sir Alex Ferguson has also been interviewed: Fergie interview

The most saliant point from Sir Alex Chewalot is: 'The only way you can enjoy Wembley is by winning, it is not a nice day when you lose.'

Stiliyan Petrov has told The Official Site that he will be ready for the Sunday final after being missing in action mid week v Crystal Palace with a virus. The Villa captain said:

'I've been on antibiotics for a few days and I'm getting better. I've done some training and I should be okay for Sunday.' Adding, 'The manager knows that if I'm not fit, he has other players he can put in and I would accept it. But I hope to be available for Sunday.'

Stephen Warnock, who surely now has a chance to make the England squad? (Stephen Warnock's Chance For World Cup? ) has spoken on the official site of the final and predicts a great battle saying Rooney is amongst the very best in the world.

'He's got all the ability in the world. I've been lucky to train with him and he's even better when you train with him because you realise what he can do. I think hopefully we can stop him on Sunday but it will be a very tough task. Saying that, I think Rooney will find it difficult against our centre-halves.'

However he also points out our defenders are also top drawer! On James Collins he says 'He's brave as a lion and throws himself into everything. He's been doing that all the time. It's no surprise to us now - we know what he's like.'

Happy Days.

Come on Emile Heskey make yourself a Villa legend and bang in the goals to bring home the Carling Cup ....!

Mystic Mug has polished his ball and says a Villa win, he doesn't care how or when, in off the backside of Emile Heskey will do nicely in the 95th minute (yes, 5 mins of extra time Fergie) is as good as anything.

I have a feeling this might go to penalties though... can your nerves take that!?

As a Man City fan I especially want you win because a) I hate Man United for obvious reasons AND b) I want Richard Dunne to finally get some success because he works so hard he deserves it and got absolutley nothing with us GOOD LUCK!

Milner, Downing and especially Ash will rip them apart. Cross after crosss after cross. Their defence will be battered and Gabby will take advantage. Come on the Villa.
