Gabby Injury Concern

Gabby Injury Concern

Martin O'Neill has revealed that Gabby is extremely sore after todays match against Burnley, and will need to undergo a late fitness test ahead of the Palace match.

Speaking to SSN after the match, Monny admitted Gabby did well to take to the field at all in the second half given his existing injuries, and clearly his substitution after scoring was a direct reaction to getting a calf knock when sticking the ball in the back of the net.

'We'll see tomorrow morning about injuries, a few of the boys have a few knocks and niggles.'

You begin to worry whether Wednesday will come too early for some of them.

Rest the majority of them!! Play Guzan, Beye, Clark, Davis, Bouma (if possible otherwise L Young), Sidwell, Delph, Salifou, Milner or A Young (whoever has more in the tank) Delfouneso, Carew. That should be enough to get us through and bring back the cup!!

Gabby seems to be getting sore alot lately, we cannot expect him to be playing every game, he should be rested for the Palace game, I have a nasty feeling both he and Petrov (both picking up knocks every game at the moment) will end up missing the final. Not worth it, let Delph and Delfouneso play in there place.

He should of been rested anyway, and like deano said most of them maybe. Getting past Palace was always more important than the Burnley game (in my opinion). As it stands we've got two really big games for the boys to get up for now and then a full 8 days to rest before we are at Home again for Sunderland. I think we've missed the resting players window for now and should go for both cups with everything we've got.
