Lawro was wrong, wrong, wrong on the weekends game after predicting a 2-1 to Spurs with the result, as you know, ending 0-0.
So what does the de-mustached one say about our home game v Manchester United.
A clear win to United who are on fire right?
Nope, he says a 1-1 score draw.
I'd take that. I know, I know, bit negative and IF we can win we'll be doing the first double over them since goodness knows when but hey, they are on fire. Now fair enough, we beat them at Old Trafford so we can do it, but I think I'd take the point now if offered...
WOULD I HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lawro says on the BBC:
'Aston Villa have had some big fixtures lately and I think that they have defended very well in those, with clean sheets in their last three games.'
Adding 'When they play the top teams they sometimes sit back at home and look to hit them on the counter. I think they will play this way against United, who had a very easy win against Portsmouth on Saturday.'
Mystic Mug
concurs with a draw but refuses to say so as he is dreaming of the double (in fact he is dreaming of the treble but I'm not willing to think that far ahead!) and says 1-0 to Villa with our defence being strong against Wayne Rooney.
Hopefully Murph will be along today or tomorrow with a full preview. In the meantime, Emile Heskey is a major doubt having picked up a groin strain in the Spurs game. Do you pick up groin strains? Think I'd rather not to be honest.

MON's pre-match: www.avfc.co.uk in which he says this league game isn't a dress rehearsal for the Carling Cup final at the end of the month.
The Villa boss added, '...if we can win this week and have two victories over them, certainly in terms of confidence it would give us a boost. But if you are asking me about the game at Wembley, I think it will be different in terms of atmosphere, in terms of we are playing in a cup final.' Adding 'This is a very, very important league game and so from that viewpoint, I think the game itself will be a different type of match. However, it would do us no harm if we were going in having beaten them twice.'![]()

But seriously as sad as it is, I would take a point, but we must show more attacking intent than against Spurs, that isn't much to ask is it??? Maybe just change the formation O'Neil, 1 up front for this game, flood the midfield and play on the break properly if that is what you want to do.
