Villa & Spurs Managers Relatively Happy With Point

Villa & Spurs Managers Relatively Happy With Point

Martin O'Neill pointed out in his official site post match reaction (Click Here) the rock that was our keeper yesterday v Spurs also saying how fantastic the boys at the back were for us.

On the defenders he said 'They are prepared to be very, very brave when it is demanded.' And on Brad Friedel 'I just think Brad has been exceptional. In the last number of weeks now, his performances have been terrific. He's having a great time. I think he has been reinvigorated with the coming in of Brad Guzan. They get on very well together but there is a bit of competition.'

On the game he admitted it was 'difficult' and had hoped that the side would have made more out of our counter attacks.

'Tottenham are a very fine side and they pegged us back in the second half. In the last 20 minutes of the game, they were putting it into the penalty area, which is absolutely their prerogative to do that.'

MON with hand to mouth

Appy Arry told the Official Spurs site

'I thought we played well and that's always the main thing for me. We created all the chances but just couldn't get the break. I thought we were the better side and I thought the same when we drew at Villa Park. They got some great blocks in and their centre-halves kept throwing their bodies in the way. They did that well and they are well-known for doing that. I couldn't fault the way we played.' Adding 'It would have been great to get the three points but it wasn't to be.'

Very dissapointed with how our 2 games against spuds have panned out....We have basically played with everyone behind the ball for 150 mins out the 180...We almost seem worried about taking them on & the football has been very bad in both matches with just long balls gettin hoofed out & coming straight back at us...When I look at our midfield we should be doing more to impose ourselves on these games as opposed to constantly lookin to nick games by a chance or set piece which to do you need a world class striker which we do not have...Would let both carew & heskey go in the summer and look to replace both & add to our midfield. Defence lookin awesome & will continue to be which is needed to become a great team, but I do wonder if O'Neill can take us to the next level the big one. It will be an interesting summer & an important one to see if he can get the right people in & make the next step. The progress has been fantastic both on & off the pitch & I hope this does not level out.....Looking fwd to the rest of the season with more exiting games coming up...up the villa

p,s wanted to post earlier but reading all the rubbish & abuse on the other reports with the deluded spuds fans put me off...and there was no football discusion going on just childish arguments(grow up people)Glensider if reading this, thanks for the reports always a joy to read, and excellent ratings for the defence but would have to question the high marks for some of the others, although they all put a shift in.....

We have only scored 1 goal in 6 league games and I'm not holding my breath for a deluge of goals against Man U, must be approaching some sort of record for least number of Villa goals over 7 consecutive league games, the fact that our defence is so good is crucial or we'd be in freefall
