Milly In Summer Contract Talks

O'Neill has confirmed that he will sit down with Milly Milner in the summer and thrash out a new contract.

Speaking to the Express and Star O'Neill confirmed that he had already spoken with the player and that it had been agreed that contract talks would wait until the season had ended.

'I've already spoken to him and we are not going to sit down now.'

O'Neill adds that the run in till the end of the season is going to be busy enough and that all the players need to focus on the tasks in hand, so entering into negotiations would simply be a distraction. Milner agrees with this.

There is no great rush, and I'm not sure if any conditions or targets have been hit in the original contract, but Milly is ours until June 2012 at any rate, so any new deal or extension will simply be as a result of his growing importance within the team.

I think 2025 seems about right for an extension doesn't it.

Absolutely 2025 with an option for another 20 years and all of his male children and grand children have to play for Villa too

This is a no brainer as we all now but.... 'I've already spoken to him and we are not going to sit down now.' Hope this was mutual agreement and not MON's decision solely. I know that he's already tied to us for a couple more years but is this a case of trying to save the difference (of an obvious payrise) until summer?? because if he carries on playing like he is until the end of the season and then goes on to have a good World Cup, then they, the "big Clubs" will come, and they will come hard. Maybe Milly has given him fairly firm verbal commitments? but things change. this could be an interesting and nerve racking situation as we get closer to the summer.
