'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Villa Times - 28/01/2010

Unoial Villa News...

Well, difficult to say when a player moves to the Blues... but good luck (sort of!) to Craig Gardner. The deal is done and dusted and I think rightly so, he was never going to make our first 11 evidently, he was close but no cigar so best to move on and get his career back on track. Full article: Gardner's Blue Nose Dream Come True!!

According to www.mirrorfootball.co.uk Villa have accepted a bid from Sunderland for Habib Beye who joined us in the summer from Newcastle United. I doubt it as he was on the bench last night! Full links: AVFC Transfer Talk - One Gone + Habib Exit?

Yam gorra laff! A decent Villa joke! Decent Aston Villa Joke!

This is interesting, a Liverpool fan wishing us luck and saying Villa represent all that is still right with English football: VILLA 'Everything That Is Still Right In Football'

Fieldy: Martin O'Neill intimated that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's comments after tonight's match were one of the most 'ridiculous' things the Frenchman has said since coming to England. Wenger was obviously disappointed to see his side draw with us, but he happened to comment that we play 'a very long ball game', that we closed them down and stopped them from playing football, along with commenting that we are a physical side. Martin O'Neill has hailed the lads tonight as a 'credit to the club' after the battling performance they put in against Arsenal. Full article: A Credit To The Club

Richard Dunne post match: Good Performance, Point Well Earned

Fieldy: After learning last night that we would face the United of Manchester in the Carling Cup Final, Monny has challenged the lads to stuff them! Speaking to Mr Kendrick of the Birmingham Mail Monny explained the he and the team caught the final few minutes of the Manchester derby, so he was well aware that Rooney had scored. The impression he gives is he didn't care who we played. Full article: Monny In Carling Cup Rally Cry

Fieldy: Finally a bad based Dunne pun! Richard Dunne is not 'gutted' he won't be facing his old club in the Carling Cup final. It's a busy morning for Dicky Dunne on the Official Site today, not content with his thoughts on Arsenal and our league goal drought, he's back to refute suggestions that he's 'gutted' he won't be facing his old club Manchester City in the Carling Cup Final. Yup, poor old Bazza has missed out on a shot at silverware after moving to Mancland for that very reason. Plenty of others are taking the pee, so I won't bother. Stating categorically 'I play for Villa now' Dunne has no regrets over the lack of a City clash, he's just simply 'over the moon' to be in the Final regardless.

Villa statement yesterday about the stressed online ticket office! Our online ticket office is currently experiencing high levels of traffic and supporters are being asked to remain patient when attempting to purchase tickets for the Carling Cup Final. There are enough tickets to satisfy demand and season ticket holders will be guaranteed a seat at Wembley even if they purchase online at a later date. It is advisable to log on to the site at a later time or date when the demand is less likely to be so high. Full article: Richard's City Love Dunne With

James Nursey of the Mirror says: 'Marlon Harewood hopes to become one of the most sought after free transfers this summer'. Article: Click Here

Fieldy: Their are rumours that Blackpool have secured the services of wee Barry Bannan until the end of the season. Full details: Blackpool Extend Bannan Loan?

ITV have selected our 5th Round tie against either Wolves or Crystal Palace for TV viewing. Details: FA Cup 5th Round Tie Live

Thought for the day: When you are the lead dog on the sled, the other dogs have a pretty poor view. Semper Fidelis, General Krulak
