Blackpool Extend Bannan Loan?

Their are rumours that Blackpool have secured the services of wee Barry Bannan until the end of the season.

An article in the (weekly subscription) Blackpool Gazette has stated that O'Neill is happy for the little Scotsman to gain further experience out on loan, and the final papers are on the verge of being signed.

The loan would be until the end of the season, and is expected to be concluded with time to spare before the window ends at 5pm on Monday.

The 20 year old has done well as far as I can tell, and has made 8 appearances for the Seasiders since joining a few short weeks ago and it's obvious Ian Holloway rates him.

He's unlikely to get near our team this season sadly, so more first team games can only be of benefit.

Agreed better he stays at Pool. But Villa need to sign him up his contract is out at the end of the season. If he makes it, it would be a huge loss to let him go, if he does not quite make it, he willl still be worth a 3.5 million transfer fee a la Craig Gardner.

Young Barry seems to be making quite a success of his loan spell with Ian Holloway's outfit, and clearly the opportunity of enjoying regular first team fotball, albeit in the Championship, is agreeing with him. He's come on in leaps and bounds these past two seasons, and had clearly reached the stage in his career where he needed to make the step up from playing reserve team football. Small in stature he may well be, but he's certainly not lacking in talent, and he looks to have a decent career ahead of him. Good Luck to the young man. Bet he could tell a few amusing stories about life under Holloway, that guy is one of the few real characters in football today.

I will be REALLY annoyed if we don't give him a new contract. That is all, thank you!
