Richard Dunne was pleased with the team's overall performance in the clash against Arsenal last night, and he has faith the goals will return.
Speaking on the Official Site this morning after a well earnt rest, Dunney was pretty pleased with the point in last night's game and although he was obviously disappointed to see another league game pass by without victory, he, like most, would've taken a point before the match.
'You want to win your home games, but we'll take thepositives that we're proving difficult to beat and we're keeping cleansheets.'
It sounds daft after our recent Carling Cup 2nd leg Semi Final clash against Blackburn (God that's a mouthful) given we hit six, but there are obvious concerns over the fact it's been four league games without a victory and a goal, and folks like me of a nervous disposition are seeing parallels with last season (however early and unfounded that may be) but Dunne is confident that the 'rub of the green' will return as long as we keep putting in the effort we do.
Arsenal was a strange game, only two shots on target from us yet the consensus is we should've won. Our towering centre half sides with the majority there, and explains that chatting to the team in the dressing room even when Arsenal hit the bar the lads believed they had it covered if it had been lower.
Whatever you think of that, it's a good sign of the positivity within the Team and that they aren't letting results or moments in games get to them, and play on their minds too much.
Onwards and upwards, and hopefully three points in roughly 53 ish hours time!![]()
