Martin O'Neill has hailed the lads tonight as a 'credit to the club' after the battling performance they put in against Arsenal.
Speaking on the Official Site after overseeing us to a 0-0 draw, Monny commented that we managed to shut Arsenal down successfully but was bitterly disappointed that we didn't manage to get the goal and all 3 points.
'I thought we played splendidly in the game, I thought Ashley put in some incredible balls that just needed a glance from someone.'
He adds that Gabby and Downing were desperately unlucky with their chances, and that he'd have been devastated for the lads if we'd have lost it in the final 10 minutes, despite Arsenal hitting the woodwork as often as we had a shot on target.
'They were more than excellent, I thought they were an absolute credit to the football club.'![]()

I know I'm not alone in hoping we do a Blackburn in our next league match, but again two chances on target all match speaks volumes as to our problems last season and at least up front, nothing has changed in a meaningful way and I don't have faith it will before the window closes.
