Aston Villa Transfer Talk And Gossip

This transfer window has been a bit painful so far in trying to get gossip articles done as the gossip really has been very poor or non existent, to the point I've made my own links up! No Truth In Boyd Rumours - Messi On The Other Hand

Anyway, only thing I can see today is a report in The Mirror claims that Sunderland want Habib Beye who moved to Villa last summer from Newcastle United. They claim a bid was lodged last week for around 1.5million.

Not sure we need to sell squad members at the moment though do we? We need cover surely?

For those that haven't seen it, Curtis Davies is being linked to Celtic on loan: A Soon To Be Fit Davies Linked To Celtic Loan

The Craig Gardner transfer could be set to go through as the two clubs Villa and Blues have agreed a fee: Gardner Fee Agreed - Official

In a shock move, Vital Villa has(n't) been tipped off that Klaas-Jan Huntelaar who might be available on loan is wanting join Villa so he can have a fish and chip supper on a Friday night instead of and I quote 'more bloody pasta'.

Fear i wish for once that a link like that was true. Hunterlaar struggling at AC so why cudnt we pop in a cheeky loan request with view to permanant if he does well. Wait a sec he isnt British so we wont even go there

If we're not in for the Huntelaar loan deal ill be mightly pi$$ed off. Its obvious we need a striker and if we dont have money to actually buy a decent one a loan deal would be ideal no??

Isn't he on massive wages though? MON/Villa won't pay them.

Technically it wouldn't be breaking the wage structure if he was only on loan. Mind you, it'll never happen regardless, MON doesn't sign stars (for whatever reason).

Huntelaar or Bent. Loan or buy would be great

I'm sure there would be a fee involved in a loan for Huntelaar as well as his wages. Would be nice to see us go for him though.

Is this the same Huntelaar who was mint in the Dutch league but couldn't hack it in real eagues like La Liga or Serie A? Oh quick, a player has flopped in 2 of the major leagues, but wait he's foreign, let's sign him!!!

Henry was a winger in serie A and took time to become a great striker in the premier league. A half season loan deal doesn't really compare to Henry's move to Arsenal.

Darren Bent, peter crouch, robbie keane, jermaine Defoe, Wayne Rooney, anelka, drogba, berbatov etc all cost clubs a fortune and no-one is going to sell them to competitors. So a proven premier league scorer is out if our reach. Buying foreign players who have scored a lot in the Dutch or French leagues is a gamble, for every drogba there's dozens of alves' and his ilk. Villa only option is to invest in young talent on the cheap and hope they make the grade. You guarantee nothing buying expenses foreign players but it can have a detrimental effect on the team as a whole. Teamwork always wins against a team of individuals. Tottenham have proved this again and again, they have spent big but never ever looked liked challenging for silverware. Trust MON to build a team and don't assume a single player will take us to the next level. Unless we clone Maradonna of course, a player who could win a game in his own. Huntelaar is no maradonna.

I do realise that Fear was joking but it does highlight the different approaches to creating a successful team.

Seen huntelaar play. Form is temporary - class is permanent. If we had the option to get him I wouldn't even blink.

He may of had a rough time but of late but he is quality. Theres a reason Madrid and milan bought him in the first place.

I'm not here to create a team, just a laugh General Disarray! It is more a commentary on the press and some who make up links really! :o)
