FA Cup v Brighton Build Up & Predictions

Lawro has continued his run of predicting Villa wins saying the FA game v Brighton & Hove Albion will be 2-0 to Aston Villa.

The BBC pundit says: 'Villa go into this match on the back of the euphoria of reaching Wembley in the Carling Cup and, even if manager Martin O'Neill makes changes to his team, I think they will play with confidence and belief. Brighton had a good win at Walsall last weekend and are improving under Gus Poyet, but I don't think they will win this one.'

Mystic Mug says it is hard to predict as he would expect major changes to our team but is going 3-1 as he's sure the Fonz will have a lovely day!

Knowing a little bit about Brighton, I'd go for Villa at least 4-0, more likely 5-0, but with a good chance of more.

Brighton lends itself very well to limericks. "I once knew a young lady from Brighton..." but I'll stop there. Let's just say her story is more positive than her cousin from Nantucket!

Have happy memories of the Villa vs Brighton fixture. Older supporters, like my goodself, will recall the night we beat them 4-1 at Villa Park, to go top of the old first division for the first time in what was to be our 80-81 League Championship winning season. Funnily enough, Mark Lawrenson played for the 'seagulls' that night. As for tomorrows meet-up, I think we'll win, but it will probably be a close affair. 2-1 to the good guys says I. As long as we're through into Sundays fifth round draw, that's obviously the only thing that really matters.
