Record Scottish Scorer In Talks With Villa?

Record Scottish Scorer In Talks With Villa?

OK, so this could be interesting. Probably not but who knows!?

I had an email earlier asking if I knew anything about the rumour that Kris Boyd was at Villa Park yesterday. I hadn't.

Then I got this link sent to me: www.thesun.co.uk with a report by Andy Devlin.

The report claims that Villa were 'locked in talks' yesterday with 26-year-old Rangers striker yesterday and that he also spoke with Alex McLeish at Blues.

Boyd has a contract extension at Rangers but is assessing his options as the record goalscorer in the SPL is out of contract in the summer.

The paper also says that Boyd was at the game last night v Blackburn in the Carling Cup and got the full 'VIP treatment'.

Apparently it is a pre-contract agreement not a transfer for now being talked about although the paper also says that McLeish is still hoping to grab him now for the rest of the season.

Boyd is currently on 19 goals for Rangers. His total in his career is 161.

Rangers site info on Boyd: www.rangers.premiumtv.co.uk

So what do you think of this link, a good one or what? I don't watch the SPL so am - as usual some would say including myself if pushed - useless!

available on a free but if the report is right, surely worth £1.5m to grab now? Or swap with Harewood!

If Boyd got the full VIP treatment with Randy and co last night this must be nailed on.

Rod Wallace was top scorer one year up in Scotland. What more do you need to know.

Personally I think he's well worth a punt at £1.5m. I know not all players who make it in Scotland can make it down here (Maloney, Agathe!) but Cueller, Petrov and Larsson have been successes. He's a finisher and that's exactly the kind of player we need to give an alternative / addtion to Gabby. Sign him up MON!

With rangers desperate for cash and him out of contract in the summer bids circa £2M could well get him and for that price its worth a gamble.
