By public demand, well JayVFC and RevdPete to be exact, I've taken the mid season interview:
1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?
It was a birthright, no other Fear has supported any other team to my knowledge. First game was 27.08.1977 Aston Villa 1-2 Everton Villa Park 37806 League Division One. I was eight. We'd been to one game already only to find out when we arrived it had been frozen off! But sitting in the upper trinity with my brother and dad was so exciting. The thunderous noise the old beautiful wooden stand made was simply magic and then the old chap next to me shout so loud his false teeth fell out! We went 1-0 up and then blew it but to be honest, I was a little young to fully take it all in.
Also lovely memories of coming home from school and finding Villa towels on our beds (bro and me) bought by mom and also my bro going to his first game and bringing me - as a nipper - home a badge. I wore it with pride to school only for the front bit to come off. I was so gutted the teacher let me out into the playground to find it, which I did. Still got that badge somewhere.
Basically what I'm saying is it is a love affair that never ends, no matter how frustrated we get, we do have a fantastic club to support eh?!?!
2) What do you think of this season, do we have the chance to push on or will we slip up like last season?
I don't know but I'm strangely chilled, I think it is tiredness! lol. I'd take 6th and a Carling Cup win to be honest, I think with a player like Darren Bent we'd have quite possibly been right up the top of the league and causing a major upset, sadly the strikers aren't really taking their chances and that might be our undoing.
3) Best moment/s of this season so far?
Best moment, well every moment as a Villa fan is heaven isn't it?!?! :o) Beating Man Utd at Old Trafford was special and lovely that my mate Nigel at last doesn't have to keep going having been for something like 200 years without seeing us win. Also spent one day up in the posh seats with a few good friends, that was very nice, especially as the drink flowed and was free. I collected lovely messages from all my mates in the Holte and down where I sit (Trinity Lower) telling them how nice the food was and how comfy the seats were. Must have been at least 10 messages ending in off.
My mate turned to me, glass of port in his hand, and said 'you've changed JF, you've sold out'...! Precious!
4) Worst moment/moments of this season so far?
Nasty moments for Luke Young and Salifou aside, my mate got headbutted and that was just rotten and left me gutted for him. Apart from that, Torres. Say no more. Total class that bloke but totally gutting after we missed so many chances.
5) Do you expect any arrivals this January (bearing in mind MON has indicated not) and IF you could bring in a player or two, who (realistically) would you go for?
Not expecting any judging by MON's comments playing it down but always hope for a surprise. To be honest if we can't go for a quality striker - and I don't think there are any top class strikers out there who we or anyone else could buy right now - I am starting to get intrigued by the thoughts of a short term fix in James Beattie. I know, I know, I'll get slated but he is fit and ready to play, does shake things up and would provide cover. Heskey for me isn't really what we need - I SO wanted him to do well - and John Carew just frustrates, he should be SO good for us but is so on and off form. Shame, he has all the attributes to be world class.
6) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer? And do you think Villa will spend enough this summer to progress?
Strikers, no idea who, the ones I'd have gone for - Defoe when he left Spurs, Owen before he went to Man Utd and Darren Bent have all gone elsewhere. I'm not good with the players from abroad as I only focus on the Premier League, not my job to scout for players, I'm getting angry now, get off my back ffs...!
Villa do spend enough, they are doing things the right way, sure I'd like a £20m player this January, in fact this very minute, but remember we were 2nd top spenders in the summer and big spenders the summer before.
7) If we made the Carling Cup final, who would you most like to face Manchester United or Manchester City?
Manchester United. I missed the 94 final due to a brain op and the 96 one for that matter. I don't to just face them though obviously, I want to see us win! Not sure I could stand facing Gareth Barry if Citeh did win, that would be heart breaking.
GOT to get there first though, lets concentrate on Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday and see them off.
8) What do you expect us to do/finish this season?
Premier League: 6th unless we do get a finisher in
FA Cup: Semi finals, depending on the draw maybe the final
Carling Cup: Final, result? Anyone's guess, anything can happen, my heart says Villa obviously.
9) Your opinion on Martin O'Neill now he is mid way through his 4th season in charge?
He's a fascinating character. At times very frustrating, I don't think you'd ever really get to the bottom of what he is thinking, such an enigmatic person. I SO hope he proves to be the one, we don't want to keep changing managers etc. Really not sure yet though, I know some have total faith, I'm just along for the ride and this season I think is an improvement style wise (not so much hoofing) but I can't understand why he won't rotate a bit more or at least use subs a bit more. He's the boss though, it is up to him what he does, not my job and reputation on the line.
10) Your opinion on Randy Lerner and his board?
Average... no only joking!!!! Hey, they'll do!! ;o)
11) Favourite current player?
James Milner, I think I'm in love, what a player!
12) Favourite former player/s?
Too many to name. Dennis Mortimer was a great player on the pitch and a true gent off the pitch. Brian 'he who walks on water' Little was also a great. I wasn't so regular in those days (I was young and my dad worked 6 days a week including Saturdays). Got great memories of Andy Townsend, Deano Saunders, Dwight Yorke, Tony Morley... oh you could just go on and on couldn't you?

13) Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which would you most like to thump!?!
Meganne Fox would do, I keep having to put her off though as I'm very busy these days.
Who would I punch? Not sure I'd bother really, I'm not a great one for this modern celebrity thing especially the horribly boorish jungle and big brother things, how degrading! I'll have a think if I can muster the energy to punch anyone and let you know! lol
