Gardner Blues Bid Rejected

Martin O'Neill has confirmed that Birmingham City have had a bid for Craig Gardner rejected.

The bid is rumoured elsewhere to be in the region of £3 million.

Despite not playing a part in the team lately, Monny is adamant he doesn't want Craig to go but to be fair it looks more like Craig is off, and Monny just wants a better price.

'Birmingham City have made a bid. As it stands, (it) hasn't been accepted.'

Monny continues to talk about Craig wanting first team action and that in his time here he references players who have left who didn't make a contribution to the club while they were here. You can make your own minds up who he means there. But that obviously doesn't apply to Craig.

'I would be sorry to see him go, but he wants to play now and I accept that.'

He will defo go, I just hope not to blues as I feel that may come back to haunt us....I wish he would of had a little bit of a run in centre mid before it came to this as I'm really not sure what he may / may not be capable of as dont feel I've seen enough of him in the prem in his rightful position...

Gardner tries his best whenever / wherever he plays - but he is simply not the quality to be in our starting eleven and it makes perfect sense for him to leave. Hope he doesn't go to Blues though!!

no good playing him if the manager rates other players over and above him Stu? Shame, thought he might break through for us but if he isn't going to, be good to get a decent price and let the lad move on, he's never let us down and does need first team football at this stage of his career.

I wish he would make it with us and a couple of years ago it looked like it was about to lift off for him. However a move to B-lose would not be a bad one for him. His family are split between B-lose and Villa and he would of supported the dark side had not a couple of my pals ensured that he went against his Dad and followed the mighty claret and blue. Any move will be swiftly followed by talk of his Dad being a B-lose fan and that he has mates who follow the team at the Sty. Ho Hum!!! However he should go for no less than £5million and a 50% sell on clause. Sometimes it is good to imagine life as a B-lose fan. For example just imagine how we would feel if we were about to spend £3-£5million on one of their reserves.
