So What Do You Think About Nigel Reo-Coker?

We asked following the transfer talk yesterday that Hull, Bolton, Blackburn and Wigan want Nigel Hokey-Cokey (see: Hokey Cokey In Or Out? Villa Transfer Talk)

Would you sell Nigel Reo-Coker?

Apparently not!

45% voted 'no, play him'. He was expected to play last night but MON fielded his strongest midfield with Petrov and Milner in the centre, to be fair the way they played, you really can't criticise the decision. I'm sure the fact that Steve Sidwell came on as sub instead of NRC wouldn't have been lost on the player though. He really is low down in the pecking order now it seems?

NRC running

Anyway, another 38% voted not to sell him because he is a good squad member. Suppose you have to question how long the player - who has just 18 months left on his contract - will be 'happy' as a squad player, especially as he isn't a regular sub either.

8% said they'd sell him now and another 8% in the summer leaving just 1% unsure.

We asked last September after the coming together of MON and NRC in training, Is NRC's Villa Career Effectively Over?

He has a 50% chance of remaining 40%
Yes, 100% you don't cross MON 32%
No, he'll work his way back 22%
It was anyway imho 6%

NRC goal celeb

Despite it not being over, it certainly shows no signs of blossoming either does it?

By the way, our other poll asked Villa v Blackburn 1st leg CC away will: and 76% were right with win, 19% said draw and just 5% predicted a loss.

Our latest poll is asking for your man of the match v Blackburn Rovers.

We also have a thread in the forum with a poll following a suggestion from Villan444 asking who you would play against West Ham now that Gabby has a one match ban for 5 yellow cards. Just need to check that he is on 5 yellows first, anyone confirm that?! TO VOTE >> Click Here

He will be off in the summer, regardless. Especially with our new look midfield, he wont play for us.

Sidwell came on instead of NRC because in a 4-5-1 he links up better with Gabby from the middle. Petrov plays the defensive role which would suit NRC better. On that point, when we went 4-5-1 I might have pushed the excellent Milner out wide and brought Downing central to play the 'Barry role'. I think with we need Milner and Young wide in that system, but I reckon MON will only use it sparingly now.

I think he looks like rapper Kano. But on a serious note I'd keep him if I was the manager - probably wouldn't have said that this time last year though. Fickle? Yes course I am - I'm a football fan.

It does look like the rules have been changed RE: 5 yellow cards being brought forward from end of Feb to end of Dec. My mistake.......

NRC no doubt a decent player but probably not good enough for a top for team which we are now trying to become, love the guys enthusiasm and grit but for me just dosent have enough quality to go with it. Regardless MON will know what is best for the club and player

NRC...one area he can improve his game...is to release the ball quicker. So many times watching him play, I will be applauding a ball winning tackle from NRC only to see him hold onto it for too long and give away posession....it happens far too often...and is VERY frustrating. Other than that, I think he is a very strong squad player....but he may want first team action elsewhere, and he is replaceable.
