Players Praise Claret & Blue Army

Players Praise Claret & Blue Army

A word of warning from James Milner who seems to grow in stature every game he plays. The dynamic midfielder said they know there is still much to play for. Talking to AVTV he said a clean sheet was crucial last night adding 'It was a tough game. It was open. We counter-attacked on them quite a lot but they put us under some pressure too in the second half.' On the job half done he says: 'It's a good position for us to be in but we're a long way from the final yet. We need to finish the job. They're going to come and throw everything at us. It's then on us to make sure we stand up to that. We know if we don't concede at home, we're in the final.'

He also complemented the 'absolutely brilliant' Villa fans adding 'It looked like there were as many Villa fans at Ewood Park as home fans. They were fantastic. It would be good to get them a trip to Wembley.'

Nice to see the Villa players appreciate the stunning support from the Villa fans last night at Ewood Park as Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov joined Milner in praise telling the official site: 'They were immense. They were absolutely great. They were really loud and proud throughout the game. They are so, so good for us. Their support was vital.'

He also says that the semi isn't over yet but 'so far so good'.

Great to see them thanking and appreciating what was a stunning effort from the claret and blue army, be nice to get that sort of atmosphere going at Villa Park a bit as well! We can sell out for the second leg now surely, everything is to play for, should be a great match and a superb night.

The way Milner and Petrov are linking up now looks really sharpe. Milner does alot of work for Stan, and always moves for him in midfield to recieve the ball. Like wise DJ Stu and Webcam who both grafted thaeir nuts off last night.

I feel sorry for Sidders, NRC, Gardner, Albrighton etc, they're just not going to get a look in at the moment!

Petrov's legs go after an Hour every game and he resorts to hoofball. Brilliant for an hour I'll give him that but I reckon Delph could do what he does but last the pass.

Don't tell anyone but i was sitting in the Blackburn end (couldnt get an away ticket, and my mate's a Blackburn fan and was going) and must agree with what the lads are saying. The fans were absolutely AWESOME last night. It genuinely sent shivers down my spine at one point seeing the other end literally rocking. I was just gutted I couldnt join in!
