Vital Villan Mid Season Interview: gmvillan

Vital Villan Mid Season Interview: gmvillan

gmvillan - Riverside, Rhode Island, USA (formerly Solihull/Yardley, England) - is the next up for the Vital Villa mid-season interview:

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

September 17, 1968. Birthright.

2) What do you think of this season, do we have the chance to push on or will we slip up like last season?

Better chance of staying consistent due to squad size BUT as long as league position isn't the measuring standard - the league is harder and we shouldn't compare last year's finish to this in terms of final position. Bottom line is, our squad has improved and expanded......

3) Best moment/s of this season so far?

John Terry's strop after we scored the winner. Guzan's penalty saves. Gabby shushing Small Heath. Winning at ManUre, acquisition of Warnock, Dunne and Collins, making Gary Cahill look like the player he is (distinctly average) in the Bolton game (anyone notice how he's been very quiet since that match?), winning at Anfield......

4) Worst moment/moments of this season so far?

Has to be what happened to Mousie in Africa, followed closely by the death of Luke Young's brother. Anyone who says the Wigan result here is an insensitive *******!

5) Do you expect any arrivals this January (bearing in mind MON has indicated not) and IF you could bring in a player or two, who (realistically) would you go for?

Don't expect anyone and to be honest don't think we need anyone except a goal-scorer, and that might be hard to find.... Step up Nathan Delfouneso!!!!

6) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer? And do you think Villa will spend enough this summer to progress?

An emerging and talented goal-scorer and possibly another left back IF Freddy doesn't recover... Who? Maybe someone like Rooney.... haha! Let's be honest here - how many TOP goalscorers could/would come to Villa AND would improve us/not upset the dressing room with an over-inflated ego....?

7) If we made the Carling Cup final, who would you most like to face Manchester United or Manchester City?

City, so that we can beat Gareth 'I only came to City once I got reassurances about the manager's future' Barry. We've already beaten United in the league cup final so that would be boring.

8) What do you expect us to do/finish this season?

Premier League: 5th
FA Cup: quarters
Carling Cup:winners

9) Your opinion on Martin O'Neill now he is mid way through his 4th season in charge?

Outstanding manager. We (fans) need to support him and stop second-guessing his every move (which I NEVER do.... oops, maybe after every single defeat..... just a bit...... OK, a lot). But he's more intelligent and more in touch than we ever give him credit for. His aloof demeanour is a media manipulation on his part..... genius...

10) Your opinion on Randy Lerner and his board?

Clearly the best chairman/owner around... wish people would stop being stupid with the General and appreciate him more!!

11) Favourite current player?

Jimmy Milner (but Moussie gets a sympathetic vote)

12) Favourite former player/s?

Paul McGod, Tony Morley, Kevin Richardson

13) Right, lets lower the tone... which celebrity would you most like to bang and which would you most like to thump!?!

Halle Berry. Craig Bellamy.

With thanks to: GMVillan

I like the fact you call me an incensitive ******** for saying the wigan game. People die all over the world everysecond that i don't know. If i cared everytime that happened then i would be a very emotional man. yes salifou and lukes loses were close to the team i support, but they certainly weren't the worst things to happen to me personaly.

GM probably has a point Joe, but no, if I think about it the Wigan game wasn't the worst thing to happen to me in my life this season. Spending 5 weeks by an intensive care bed waiting for my brother to die was the worst, and the best was his recovery. But pure football wise - yes Wigan! Having said that, I don't think GM would have meant it so personally, and I don't think we should take it as such. I laughed when I read it.

ye pete, the point i was trying to make was in my life worse things happen in terms of villa that was the worst thing. I agree that im sure the worst thing to happen to young was his brother dying and the shooting for salifou. However to me they arent villa related, they are related to a particular player in the squad.

I'm with Joe. The Q was obviously about football & if these (undoubtedly terrible, but irrelevant) things really had such a huge effect on your emotional well being then I would suggest that the only insensitive person around here was you; by bringing it up before proceeding to say how you want to punch Craig Bellamy and f*** Halle Berry!!!
